Meet Francesca Gerard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Gerard.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Francesca. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Francesca and I’ve been on a journey towards holistic wellness. I went on my own wellness journey about five years ago when I moved down here to South Florida. Moving to South Florida from Tampa was an opportunity for me to move with purpose to embark on a new journey in life and see what else the world had to offer for me. While adjusting to a new environment, I picked up a hobby in exercising. I found pleasure and enjoyment in exercising that it became a priority in my everyday lifestyle. I began to notice the weight loss and it made me feel happier and healthier, that I knew that it was a must that I maintained my active lifestyle. The amazing transformation in my body image forced me to begin implementing healthy eating habits. Through my process of self-discovery, I came to the realization that I like change.

Therefore, later on in my health and wellness journey, I invested in a personal trainer to work with me individually to teach me appropriate exercise forms and techniques and to keep me accountable towards my exercise goals. I then started becoming even more passionate about health and wellness, that I started sharing my transformation on social media platforms. I noticed that family and friends were astonished of my transformation that they would commend me for my weight loss and even ask me for advice! As a professional educator, I always found joy in teaching people and knew at a very young age that this was my life’s purpose. With health and wellness, I felt gratitude and had a vision to empower people (particularly women) and provide support and suggestions as they set goals and make lasting changes that will ultimately improve their health and wellness leading to a joyful existence.

In 2019, I became a certified Personal Trainer to ensure that I am well- equipped to navigate the world of exercise, nutrition and health. Although I am new to the personal training industry, I constantly continue to invest in my personal development as a trainer so that I can take responsibility in being a part of delivering the change to transform the lives of my clients with the right tools and education. Health and wellness is a lifelong journey of exploration and I am excited to help women along the way with me. Today, my business is known as keepinitfit_withfrankie. My goal for my business is to not only empower my clients to achieve optimal and lasting health, but to coach and educate clients on how to achieve and sustain healthy habits as part of a daily routine that includes eating healthy, exercising, managing triggers and eliminating stress, maintaining healthy relationships, and more!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a new fitness trainer, it has not been a smooth road because there is so much to learn and develop clientele as a trainer. However, I am taking great advantage of this “downtime” to be productive and gain proficiency in learning from other instructors and trainers, and putting techniques into practice myself.

My business is keepinitfit_withfrankie. I am a Certified Personal Trainer. The thing that I am most proud of in my company is that I personally adopted a positive lifestyle change for life and aim to help women do the exact same! One of the reasons why my business is different is because the fitness industry is known to be a male-dominated career. As a female trainer, I have the first-hand understanding that females are built completely differently from men. Working with women is an advantage because it’s more than just fitness training; it’s building a connection from a female perspective.

I have lost weight myself and can identify with how body image significantly impacts a woman’s self-confidence. I am proud that my business aims to create healthy and supportive environments to help clients in reaching their personal wellness objectives. With a BA degree in Psychology and MS in Education, I strongly believe that exercise, nutrition, and mental health ALL work together for the success of the individual and all need to be considered for overall health improvement. This has also inspired me to start my very own podcast. The purpose of my podcast is to utilize my voice and platform to help others tap into their full potential by using evidence-based research to promote and facilitate strategies to empower and celebrate the beauty, power & resilience of womanhood.
