Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Villanueva.
Danny, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in Miami, I attended secondary school at Christopher Columbus High School. I then went on to study at the University of Florida, where I graduated in 2019 with a sports media degree. After finishing my time in Gainesville, Florida, I returned to Miami to begin working for Corey Advertising.
Has it been a smooth road?
I am very blessed, to be honest. I grew up with two loving parents and the strongest support system any young man could ask for. Thanks to Columbus and the University of Florida, I have matured in a high-reaching and family-oriented environment. I have learned to shoot for the stars while also never forgetting about other people and being a decent human being. After college, It hasn’t been smooth necessarily as I graduated right before the coronavirus pandemic hit. There are a lot of people still experiencing uncertainty considering the circumstances. I was just blessed once again with an opportunity to work for such an amazing group of hardworking individuals and I couldn’t be happier.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Corey Advertising Story. Tell us more about your work.
Corey Advertising is an advertising agency based in Coral Gables. I am a Brand Manager, so I specialize in making sure our clients’ brand maintains integrity as we undergo each marketing initiative. As a company, the thing that really sticks out to me is the ability to help any client no matter the size. I love using the analogy that our company is like a hospital. We’re capable of performing the toughest of tasks while also helping those whose needs aren’t as large. From national brands such as Carnival Cruise Line to local companies here in Miami, we want to help everyone. The enthusiasm and determination that meets me every day when I walk into the office are unmatched. It is impossible not to admire the work ethic that radiates from top to bottom. It is truly something special.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami is one of the most unique places on the planet. With that comes plenty of opportunities. From the outside looking in, the city may look intimidating but it really is smaller than you think. The networking possibilities here are different from any other city in the United States. If you are like me and are born and raised here, one shouldn’t have trouble getting their foot in the door. It’s all about talking to the right people. Even if you are not from Miami, the city is such a melting pot that there are more than enough opportunities here for everyone.
