Meet Jerry Gousse, MTM J-VILLE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerry Gousse.

MTM J-VILLE was born on April 12, 1991, as Jerry Gousse. Currently, he is striving to make waves in the music industry as an upcoming artist. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in Queens and is making a mark as he aspires to create an image for himself as an artist in Miami. Since a young age, MTM J-VILLE has always had a passion for music. His taste in music is versatile, from hip-hop to country, pop, and more.

MTM J-VILLE has used music as an outlet to make a career and provide for his loved ones. Music has been his saving grace by serving as a way to express himself and find his voice. MTM J-VILLE is family-oriented and shared that his mom has hugely impacted his music career. He also mentioned that MTM represents “More Than Music” and J-VILLE is his mother’s last name, Joinville shortened and hyphenated.

MTM J-VILLE’s mother has inspired him to master his craft as an artist. They have always had a close relationship, and J-VILLE spent alot of time taking care of his mother as she was fighting cancer. He utilized music as a way to cope and find a solace during her battle.

J-VILLE’s mother beat cancer, got married, and J-VILLE left home. At the age of 22, MTM J-VILLE moved to Miami a week after being released from prison. He wanted to take his passion more seriously and remove himself from the distractions back in New York. Upon moving to Miami, MTM J-VILLE met the members of ROOM 112 Entertainment Group, who steered him in the right direction and taught him skills to better himself as an Artist.

MTM J-VILLE explained that rapping to him is like telling a story. He is currently working on his FIRST EP “Welcome To The Ville” that is expected to release Fall 2020. This EP will be featuring the following members of ROOM 112, Renzo Macafee, Maine Laveau, Rob Ray, and Piffy Guwop. MTM J-VILLE is ready for the next level and on the direct path to manifesting his dreams. He is prepared to make waves and reshape the rap industry forever

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Eager for a fresh start, J-VILLE moved to Miami seven days after being released from incarceration. Two weeks prior to his birthday. Upon being released, his brother asked what he would like as a gift for his birthday and J-VILLE’s response was a way out. Shortly after, his brother booked him a flight and J-VILLE traveled to Miami, FL, with a bookbag and $300. He stayed with family and friends temporarily until locating his own place. J-VILLE stated that it was challenging and a huge adjustment moving to Miami but he knew it was necessary for music and imperative to get out of New York.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
MTM J-VILLE is a raw and diversified artist that specializes in Hip Hop. He makes songs on various subjects with distinct beats.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have taken serious music a long time ago. Up until I was 27, music was always a passion but I didn’t invest enough time in it. I wish I began sooner with the work ethic that I have now.
