Meet Amaan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaan.

Amaan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Music started out as a hobby throughout my teenage years. Writing was something that I was pretty good at when it came to school and English was my favorite subject. I started taking music seriously as a passion and career about four years ago when I released my 1st project “Day In the Life” back in 2016. The response I got back then and throughout my career kept me going, and also the desire to see the emotions and ideas I have in me come to life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I believe with anything in life, there are always going to be obstacles and struggles your going to be faced with. Some of the struggles I’ve faced were, financial ills, sometimes feeling like you weren’t getting enough support from your friends and family, Self-Doubt, Even falling out with people because of business aspect getting in the way of things. But for every setback, there’s always a major comeback or blessing in disguise.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Well, I’m a Hip-Hop artist with my own Record/Production company Called “Never Let Our Dreams Die” we pretty much specialize with songwriting and music Production for ourselves as artists and are starting to provide services for other artists as well. What I am most proud of with my company is the fact we are allowed to just be able to be our authentic selves within our music and art. Being able to take thoughts, emotions and feelings turn them into ideas and concepts that people can connect with and at the same time, you being able to express yourself is a blessing in my eyes. What I think sets us apart from others in the Hip-Hop scene locally is that a lot of artists are trying to sell people a dream or a lifestyle that isn’t really always attainable for the youth (especially minority youth). The goal with “Never Let Our Dreams Die” is to create content that tackles the issues that the youth faces today, still having fun at the same time Because Life is about the Yin/Yang lol.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a pretty quiet kid, made friends, and everything but did stay to myself at times. Very observant and curious about my Internal and External world. My interest was always music and art, sports (MMA was a hobby of mine at a point in time) The usual childhood/teenage things.
