Meet Nazia Mollah of Traks 5th Avenue Productions in North Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nazia Mollah.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As an actively involved choir kid all throughout high school, music has always been an integral part of my life. While attending undergrad at FAU in late 2008, I met and became good friends with a gentleman professionally known as Reazy. Shortly after in early 2009, I met my current partner Mev and we instantly became friends as well. While getting to know both my new friends in college, I realized they both were music producers (that had barely heard of each other on campus) and I came up with this brilliant idea that I should introduce my two new producer friends to each other. You see, Mev had just gotten his first placement with Glasses Malone, Lil Wayne & Birdman and Reazy… was only known for making beats at school. So I thought why not?! Without knowing it, in 2009 I had put together the iconic production team that would later go on to create their very own legacy with the help of DJ Khaled & We The Best Music Group as “The Renegades.”

After that initial brush with the music industry in 2009, I wasn’t involved in the industry again until late 2019. I was a huge advocate of The Renegades for obvious reasons, and we continued to remain friends over the years. Personally, I chose the corporate lifestyle for many reasons- my Bengali family being one of them. So I went on to spend about a decade working in retail banking after introducing The Renegades to each other. I worked in both the South Florida and Southern California markets as a manager for Wells Fargo Bank. Along with moving across country in late 2016, I also graduated with my MBA from FIU in late 2017. I eventually left the world of banking and followed my passion for educating individuals within higher education as a business professor in early 2019.

My “return” to the music industry was over a decade later in late November of 2019, when Mev approached me with his vision and a proposition. By New Year’s Eve 2019, I went from being the Business Manager to becoming a co-owner of Traks 5th Avenue Productions.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been challenging for me in new ways that I hadn’t experienced within an industry for some time. My biggest challenge to date has been that I am a fresh, new face in this industry- representing & working with people whom have been involved in the music industry for years (for some-before I was even born)! I have given myself quite a few pep talks while sitting in my car in front of an event, convincing myself to be brave and attend industry events alone most of the time. Getting people to warm up to a new person has been a struggle, but I am managing!

Please tell us about Traks 5th Avenue Productions.
In addition to managing Mev The Renegade, I also am the business manager at Traks 5th Avenue Productions. Traks 5th is a music production company co-owned by Mev and I. What sets us apart from other productions companies is that at Traks 5th we take what we have (Mev, our key source of intel with regards to the music industry/music production), and we share this intel with musicians whom are seeking partnership and support from someone such as Mev. We believe this sort of honest collaboration and mentorship with us specifically, is what takes blossoming creatives to that next level and sets us apart from others.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my fondest memories from childhood was the day my late brother picked me up from elementary school & insisted that we see the choir director before I went home for the day. I was in the 2nd grade at the time and he had discovered my ability to sing a few months prior to that. I remember him asking me if I would like to sing at school, to which I recall immediately shouting, “YES!” It was because of him and that special day that my love and appreciation for music grew into what it is today.
