Colton, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Always into motorcycles and anything with 2 wheels and engine.
After a trip to Italy in 2007, I can’t help notice that scooters are a way of life for Europeans. I couldn’t understand why Florida had not adopted this same mentality. Sunny 12 months a year and lax laws on riding 50cc Scooters.

Fun & Sun is the Florida way, scooters make perfect sense in adding to that mentality and lifestyle.
Scooters can be for work or play. My customers use them for both. It’s transportation or just for adding ease to your life when wanting to avoid places with tough parking.
Boca needed someone to step up and bring scooters to the town.
Florida Atlantic Unversity is 1 mile away plus the beach is here, Boca has embraced me and shown a lot of love since the very beginning.
Not saying it’s been easy. But it has been a wild and fun ride.
Has it been a smooth road?
Building a business from the ground up is never smooth.
I have been on a quest for many years to find the highest quality scooters at the best price. There have been lots of trial and error along the way. After many years I have put together a dream team lineup.
First the first few years the higher quality brands would not talk to me, in fact, they all told me NO, it took many years of plugging away, proving myself and romancing relationships to begin to get them to notice me and eventually change their minds.
Getting the big name respected scooter manufacturers to set me up as an authorized dealer has been the biggest struggle that required the most work. Many many years of proving my worth. Showing them that a kid with a dream and a big heart was worthy of carrying their brand. I didn’t grow up in this business and I am not a formally trained mechanic. So everything I know is by my own will. Just going and doing. Failing and trying again. There is no school for scooters, scooter business or scooter mechanics and general knowledge. I was forced to create ways, the. Better ways and systems that would allow me to train people to work below me and help with different aspects of the business. This took years of practice and perseverance to be able make it all work and function as a working business.
I put my heart and soul into my work, for me this is a lifestyle, not just a business.
I have had lots of great people around me along the way to help keep the shop running day to day and evolve the Boca Scooters brand.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I Love that you can ride 12 months a year there is no off-season for scooters or motorcycles or anything with two wheels. Great weather year-round makes it possible for a scooter shop to thrive in South Florida.
I love the diversity incredible variety of people that Are here in south Florida there is something for everybody here the matter what you’re into you can find it and a like-minded group that u can rub elbows with.
I dislike the negative stigma that Americans have towards scooters. Europeans, Asians and South Americans don’t have this same attitude towards scooters.
If you just check your ego and enjoy it for what it is, you will have a blast!
I believe, the American stigma towards scooters has changed a lot over the last 5+ years. People in Florida are really embracing scooters as a fun and easy way to enhance your lifestyle.
