Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Martinez.
Alex, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started AMF ( Alex Martinez Films) back in 2014. At the beginning, it was more of a hobby due to a passion for storytelling since I already had a full-time job as a creative producer at a radio station. As the years went on, the business kept growing to where now this is what I do full time.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Thankfully, it’s been a pretty smooth road overall but it did take a lot of hard work to get where we are now. I worked full time at a radio station as a creative imaging producer from 9 to 5. I’d come home, spend a few hours with the family, then manage the business and edit till past midnight. This went on the first few years of the business. I realized that managing a full-time job and a business was becoming a bit stressful. That is when I decided to bring in David Escorcia to the company. David is not only an incredible cinematographer but he’s a brilliant editor.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
There’s a great amount of details that are involved in creating a story. On a wedding day, there are several things going on at the same time. As storytellers, we pay close attention to details and the essence of the day. Capturing all those emotions on a wedding day and how we craft it together for the film is what makes us stand out. Each couple is unique to us, so why shouldn’t their story be.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I truly believe what has led AMF to a rapid success is the special attention that we give to each couple as well as always evolving and creating new ideas.
