Meet Sabrina Chloe Ramirez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Chloe Ramirez.

Sabrina Chloe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been into the creative world for as long as I can remember. Whether it was music, acting, arts and crafts, or anything that tickled my fancy that week (thanks to my parents!)… I would say that the first introduction into photography was from my stepfather Mark. He was very much into film (analog) photography. On every trip, he never failed to carry his camera. The walls in our home were a museum of travel, portraits, or anything that caught his eye. Being surrounded by this daily was beautiful, though I never knew the true impact it would make in the foreseeable future.

Getting along with my sister seemed unattainable, but seeing that this was in our adolescent years, it was a more normal thing. As I was juggling high school, soccer, and a social life, my sister was finding her path as a college freshman. Going into school, she was undecided on the right path for her studies. After a semester or two, she had many signs gravitating her towards the Fine arts, specifically photography. As she embarked on this new life choice, I now got to see her work and studies behind the scenes and occasionally as her model. Even if we didn’t get along during those times, she had definitely subconsciously taught me the artistry and passion one can have for photography.

Fast forward to the year 2013. Though I went to school for high fashion makeup, another passion of mine, I found myself having a new hobby. Photography! I had a love for taking pictures of my friends and family as most people starting photography do. I continued taking pictures for fun, and then as I slowly started to dive deeper in my craft I felt I could take this on as a side business. I knew I always wanted my own business and didn’t want to work for someone forever. Now years later, I have made this into my full-time job! If it weren’t for my stepdad and my sister, I don’t know if I would have found the love I have for my work as easy as I did. Also, a special thanks to my close friends for always motivating me, promoting me, and hiring me without ever asking for a discount because they believed in me.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It surely hasn’t been always a smooth road. As most things you want tend to not be easy. I have been blessed to be surrounded by people that are willing to help me reach my goals. Everyday is a learning experience and just have to move forward. A big thing is learning to stand up for your value and time. I struggled with standing up for myself because I didn’t like confrontation. I learned that it’s okay to say no or to speak up for yourself. If you don’t value yourself, no one will.

Another struggle Is when I took the plunge and decided to be a full-time freelance photographer. I had to get ready for the possible financial instability. Some days or weeks you can have nonstop work, and other days/weeks you can have zero work. That can get quite scary, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take to do what I love. (money management is key!)

Please tell us about Sabrina Chloe Photography.
I am a photographer specializing in all things creative! I love shooting people in their element and capturing that perfect moment. In the creative world when I’m not shooting lifestyle, couples, and events, I am getting creative shooting images for brands, content creating, and any other projects that get thrown my way. I pride myself on taking your vision and making it reality. I work closely with every client to make sure we get exactly what they want and more. Everyone has their special thing, with me I like to get personal. I enjoy connecting with all of my clients as friends! You can never have too many, and it really makes the job fun, easy, and comfortable. Thats the most important thing.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
That would have to be going to NYC almost three times a year and getting to see the city in every season! Fall being my favorite. Just something so magical about that place.
