Today we’d like to introduce you to Oso City.
Oso, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Throughout my entire life, I have always had a passion for music! I began throwing parties in high school for fun with my friends and when we graduated, we continued in college. At one of my events, I picked up the microphone and started to MC for the DJ and I fell instantly in love! From that point on at everyone of my events, I was the MC/Hype Man for the DJ’s that we booked. As time went one, I had the idea of start to DJ myself, so I gave it a shot and when I did I instantly knew that this is what I was put on this earth to do. From that day forward I dedicated my life to DJ’ing! Everyday I would wake up and practice from night till day to perfect the craft. Not too long after, I was blessed with an opportunity to DJ on an underground radio station and I took it! I had a show every Saturday morning and from there, the OSOCITY Brand started to build.
I started to DJ high school Proms, pep rallys, homecomings, birthday parties, weddings and anything I could get booked for! I didn’t care where it was or what it was I just wanted the opportunity. I continued to grind and grind and do as much an I can to master my craft as DJ and I was blessed with my first international show! This was such an amazing blessing and it absolutely changed my life! Furthermore, the most important thing I want people to understand and learn from my story is that I never gave up, I know its very cliche to say but what my journey has taught me is that passion, determination and consistency is key in everything you do! It’s so important to focus on the “Why” you’re doing something more than the “How” you gonna do it. I truly believe that is why I am at where I am today, its because I always knew why I was doing it and that I can overcome anyhow.
Has it been a smooth road?
I always say it’s not an adventure until something goes wrong lol, any journey that is smooth is no journey worth traveling on. I have had many obstacles just like everyone else who is chasing there Dream in particular mine have been in the beginning of my career finding good people to work with that won’t take advantage of me, I have had many people try to sell me a Dream and attempt to run game on me for there gain but I learned really fast. I’m in an industry where people lie, steal and cheat each other all the time, its a crazy business but I love it.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I Am an International DJ that specializes in Mixing, I am mist know for my diversity to mixes all genres of music. We live in a world that is full of division and music is the only thing that unites all and makes us one, when I DJ that is what I do, no matter where you are from I make everyone come together and have a memorable experience, that Is what I’m most proud of and that’s what separates me from everyone else.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I truly believe South Florida is one of the greatest places in The World! I absolutely love it here! We live in paradise! South Florida is such a multicultural melting pot and I believe that is a huge advantage, we have the ability to experience so many different worlds all in one city. For anyone starting out, I would definitely recommend them to come here.
