Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Rodriguez.
Adrian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was brought into the tax business by my father as a teenager. After my first few years of data entry and simple returns, it sparked an interest. Every year we attended several seminars and continuing education opportunities. It was our desire to provide a better service to our clients than what was available to them. I personally saw the necessity to grow my knowledge and perspective in this industry.
It began to transition at some point in my life from a career to a purpose. It was not only a tax return I was preparing. It was a future I was preparing, both short term and long term. As clients returned every year, I began to see the positive results of our financial planning. I began to see clients more positive, more financially comfortable, and more at peace with what use to be a very stressful yearly event. With time and trust, clients began to feel like family. This family business expanded this year to the Shenandoah area. Looking back at where I once began, I could have never foreseen all that would become of my dedication, commitment, and perseverance. Today I am humbly grateful for my clients and excited for the future of my tax business, Tax House Gables.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It is my belief that struggle is the step that comes just before success. Confidence was the biggest struggle of mine as I would progress in my career. Due to the constant evolving environment of the tax system, learning was a constant re-assurement that I would serve my clients. Applying multifaceted tax codes in every unique situation is important when considering the best possible outcome for the client.
Comfort was the only other struggle I truly faced along the way. It is unclear to ever know what is next, or what is possible in life. Opening a new office was not always my plan, but it was the only way that I could create an environment unlike any other. To create an environment that I could make my own. The new office was a piece of my personal and professional growth that I did not know was ever missing.
Tax House Gables – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Tax preparation is my sole focus in the business. My office offers accounting and immigration services as well. The family-oriented environment that we have created for our clients is what I am most proud of. I have two brothers that have always been in the tax business along with myself. Today, we have each branched off into our own offices. One brother in the Miami area, and the other brother at the Tax House Gables office alongside myself. As a brother company, our core set of principles and common shared vision sets us apart from other companies in the biz. When you are bound by passion and blood, you love what you do. We are willing to put the time and effort into making a business a legacy. We connect with our clients as one family to another. Clients are treated with respect, kindness, and utmost importance. Communication is our leading factor in our genuine connection. We educate and encourage our clients throughout the tax process. At Tax House Gables we are a team, both the professionals and the clients.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is simple to me. It is the satisfaction of clients. When they are happy, I feel a genuine sense of purpose.
