Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Breach.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Brian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey started off in the world of music, where I spent more than a decade performing and opening for some of the biggest names in hip hop as well as having my song air nationally as the intro to a TV show for three years. In the process of making music, I was able to co-found GTPS independent label & a highly successful hip hop blog getthatpaperson.com.
As time passed, I also created Sikey Clothing and co-founded GTPS printing. Eventually stepping away from music, I realized that I didn’t want to lose the following that I’ve gained throughout the years and decided to make a name for myself in the world of viral videos/sketch comedy with one of my first social experiments going internationally viral while having the story being featured on FOX, MSNBC, CNN, Inside Edition, Yahoo and many other Media outlets. About 4-5 months before that social experiment went viral, I found out about a Tedx Talk that was coming to my area and I submitted to be a speaker. I was fortunate enough to be chosen out of 62 people that submitted.
Between the Tedx Talk & the social experiment going viral, I’ve been given the opportunity in this past year to be able to speak to up and coming entrepreneurs and content creators around the country about social media and ways to increase engagement with the possibility to go viral. I plan to continue making my mark on this earth while empowering others through motivational and positive content. I’ve also recently started working to launch my own TV show called America’s Gone Viral with my partner in the endeavor Christine Curran, the current host of Dining Divas. It will be the first-ever viral competition show for content creators and we plan to launch it in 2020.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There is no such thing, in my opinion, as a smooth road. I feel like I’ve driven over mountains, speed bumps, volcanoes, spike strips, and hot lava. One thing I’ll always believe is that you have to fail your way to success, Look at any person you consider to be great and I will show you the things that person had to endure on their journey, Each venture I decided to undertake had its own set of struggles, but I found little successes with every failure. Let’s start with the music world. After a while, I wasn’t getting booked on shows because there were so many local artists around doing their thing. You adapt and adjust. We started throwing on our shows and putting ourselves on as the opening act.
After that, we started an independent label. I thought I was about to be the next P Diddy of Bad Boy. It didn’t turn out like that, but I learned how to grow social media pages. Next was the printing business. We were given a huge warehouse to operate out of and in nine months, the building sold and we had to get out because we didn’t sign any lease. The next thing was my clothing line. I had a little success but I failed in the sense that I didn’t keep pumping money into it and it faded away but I learned how the business works. When I get back into it, I now know exactly what to do. There is an example of learning something in every failure you have. You just have to keep pushing forward no matter what. It’s exactly like Rocky says in the movie. It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
Well I’m an entity in myself. I”m a man of many hats you could say. Just when you think you know me for doing one thing, I completely change trajectory and start being known for something else. At the current moment, I would have to think I’m known for these videos I’ve been shooting as well as speaking. I turned the success of some of the videos I shot into legitimate gigs. I’ve been fortunate enough to recently speak in New York, California, Puerto Rico, etc.
What sets me apart from the rest of the crowd is various things. From not giving a damn what people think, to not being afraid to change my path in the blink of an eye if I choose to do so. I’ve always from day one invested in myself. When I was shooting the viral videos, I didn’t just shoot one kind. I did skits, pranks, and social experiments. When I was doing music, I ran the label, was the artist, and booked the shows. While I’m doing these speaking gigs, I’m also running a business behind the scenes. I like to involve myself in every single aspect and that’s what separates me from the rest of the world.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are kinda like what Pinky and the Brain would Say. Try to take over the world, but in the meantime, I wanna continue to work on the TV show I’ve moved forward with called America’s Gone Viral. We’ve already locked down the influencer judges who are involved and have been in talks with production. My goal is to not only produce the show but to also host it. Although the show is my current focus, I’m actually thinking beyond that. I wanna use all the opportunities that I create to make a positive impact around me. I want to have my hands in many pots from the TV world, to real estate, to social media, etc.
The goal is always to keep moving forward no matter what. Your life can change paths at any moment so you just have to dig in and never let go. In the immediate future, I have some magazines I will be coming out in, have some speaking gigs lined up, a celebrity softball game for fallen heroes I’ll be playing in and some other amazing opportunities I’m grateful to take part in.
