Meet Luis Jairala of Ultra Fiesta Network in West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Jairala.

Luis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2011 Olympusat hired me to help them develop their music network Ultra Fiesta. Ultra Fiesta is the music network part of the Ultra HD Plex channel owned and operated by Olympusat and distributed in the United States and Puerto Rico. I had three years experience as a TV Host, Reporter and Producer focused on music and entertainment. With the contacts I developed throughout the years, I was able to build, acquire content and produce original segments for Ultra Fiesta. I started as the assistant network manager and officially became the manager of the network in 2014.

With Ultra Fiesta, I have interviewed major Latin artists and celebrities. I have also witnessed the growth of many up and coming artists that are now global stars like Maluma, Bad Bunny and J Balvin. We have also covered major Award shows such as Latin Grammy, Latin Billboard, American Music Awards, Latin American Music Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro and Premios Juventud.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The first few months were very challenging. All I had in my hands was the logo of the network. I had to create a structure of the network. Acquire content. At first it was phone calls and emails all day reaching out to artists managers, publicists, record labels. It was many hours on the phone because I had to tack the East and the West Coast. I was very blessed to have some strong contacts and relationships that believed in my work and this project and collaborated with me and helped me. After building a library of content, I focused on making this brand more personal. As a music fanatic, one of my favorite things is to get to know more the artists that I listen to. I wanted to give the viewer this experience.

I also wanted to make the network all about the artists taking over the breaks with some fun segments. They presenting their music videos, playing games, and talking about things I feel their audience will want to know about. One thing I am very proud of is my work. I think my work speaks for itself. At first, it was challenging convincing artists publicists to give us time with their artists to produce segments. Once I started getting a few people helping us out and putting the work out there. It started to grow and now I get many emails a week with different publicists pitching me their artists. Many of my publicists’ friends have complemented my work and how I treat their clients.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am the manager of Ultra Fiesta. Each week I am on top of all the new music video releases and I make sure to acquire these videos to air in our network. I am also in charge of hosting, reporting and producing a variety of segments with artists that air at different times throughout the day. I run social media platforms. I cover award all the award shows and press days.

I am a music guru, I know what people like, I am known for my interviews and my interaction with artists. I am happy to say many of them who have sat with major journalists or in major national TV shows often compliment my work and they feel happy with my work. I am proud of the growth of the network. it has expanded in different territories and also has a variety of content to offer.

I wanted to do something different with the network and I decided to create a segment called Hollywood en Ultra Fiesta. This segment covers all new films that are being released. I have booked interviews with major actors such as Salma Hayek, Hugh Jackman, Ben Affleck and more. This segment is very fresh and gives the music lovers a little taste of a different aspect of pop culture.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in working hard. I work very hard every day without stepping on anyone’s toes. I don’t try bringing anyone down. Sometimes I don’t have weekends, but all the sacrifice has paid off.
