Today we’d like to introduce you to Dafne Evangelista.
Dafne, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started doing hair by the age of ten. I was always at the salon, helping my mom, who was also a hairdresser in Brazil. At first, I did not want to be a hairdresser I wanted to be an attorney because I saw how hard my mom was working and her long hours but over time I fell in love with it and once I moved to the United States, I decided to become a hairdresser who was in 2012. I worked very hard no days off worked during holidays and long hours and all of that paid off in the long run.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road and it’s still not because in my eyes, there is so much more I want to accomplish.
Please tell us about your business.
Dafne Evangelista’s beauty lounge opened in 2015 and was just eight other employees and me throughout the years we expanded and are now 13 of us. We offer a variety of different services, including facials, micro-blading, eyelash extension, lymphatic drainage massage, manicure And pedicure, hair extensions, hair color, styling and a few more services. I specialize in color and styling and have made a good name for myself and now have the opportunity to work with celebrity clients.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is playing with my best friend, Karine in the streets of Goiânia, Brasil.
