Meet Syama Reyes of RosaNeon Productions in Miami Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Syama Reyes.

Syama, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
From an early age, I began my career modeling and participating in TV commercials and shows. My enthusiasm for writing began in my early school years leading to several prizes and recognition in Brazil, and eventually opening doors to major publications and TV scriptwriting including Habitasul, Ragga Magazine, Glass Magazine, mayor Latin America web portals such as Perfil.com, Newspapers, Fashion TV and Cool Magazine, where I currently am the Senior Foreign Correspondent specializing in glamour destination articles for her two columns “Glam Spots” and “Cool Shots”.

After graduating with a BA in Mass Communications and completing TV Production, Oratory, Public Speaking and Fashion Merchandising Proficiency Courses in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I went on to host TV shows for E! Entertainment Latin America, Televisa Mexico, TV COM Santa Catarina Brazil, Zee TV, Veria Living, Video Exitos and was guest artist at Telemundo, Globo TV Brazil, RCN Argentina, Caracol TV and many others networks in Spanish, Portuguese and English as well as guest radio host at Radio Caracol and W Radio. I also completed my advanced academic studies earning an MBA degree in Entrepreneurship and a Masters Degree in Marketing from Huizenga Business School at NSU (Florida, USA) which I applied to develop and to lead world-class Branding and Communication projects, Public Relations and Commercial Agreements along with a mix of Digital and Traditional marketing across different companies within the luxury segment of hospitality, travel, entertainment and lifestyle industries.

Born and raised fully trilingual in Brazil, I learned business skills from my entrepreneurial family. With extensive background and experience, I also create digital content, produce videos and events with my Miami based production company Rosa Neon, which also provides consulting services in my areas of expertise. As Master of Ceremonies, I have hosted corporate, and awards events such as the Latin Trade Bravo Business Awards and has been chosen as the spokesperson for several international brands and companies. A couple of years ago I was Yahoo Brazil’s TV Anchor for the daily celebrities show “Na Cola dos Famosos”, and most recently I was chosen as part of a selective team of journalists and producers for Grupo Prisa, W Radio in Spanish where I covered the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Copa America 2019 and Miami Open Tennis 2017, 2018 and 2019 live. I have also been selected as associate producer and the guest host of major airline distribution travel tv show Global Child. As a digital influencer, I have been invited by several lifestyles, health and luxury brands, destinations and companies to collaborate, be the face of their campaigns and represent them on social media creating original content to promote them.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was certainly a very challenging road, so many struggles along the way that I must say I can’t even count them! From gathering forces to start all over again, and again, moving from country to country to pursue my goals… playing strong until I actually became strong and until now, nothing is easy, it all requires so much work and effort that most people would give up. After many bumps on the road I believe I have reached a state of mind and tranquility where I seek for quality, lifestyle and to be surrounded by positivity. All that translates to business and when you do what you like you it doesn’t feels like work, it is so rewarding!

Please tell us about your work.
I am my business, my specialty lies in the communication/marketing / productions and commercial areas applied to the entertainment, tourism and luxury segments. From being on camera to producing the behind the scenes, from hard core business negotiation representing my clients in directing a magazine publication or a multi thousand music festival… Depending on the project, I can put together the team and manage the complete execution. At RosaNeon Productions, when we take a photo or video project, my brother, whom is based in Brazil and is my partner, travels with me to add the artistic, creative eye. Guiri Reyes, just a couple of years younger than me, is a photography director and amazing video maker (specially gifted with drone footage), so we always work together and we balance and complete each other’s skills for the business!

I am currently focusing on some consulting on marketing and business development for some tourism companies as well as maintaining my own public persona on the digital platforms by creating content selected brands and media.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Oh! I remember climbing trees to pick up fruits, hiking mountains to find hidden waterfalls and running around with my friends and playing bollywood princesses. I was very fortunate to have gone to a Hindu monastery boarding school in Brazil on my first years of school and be able to have these amazing memories with all these girls my age that while we were growing up together.
