Today we’d like to introduce you to Margie Nichols, Kristen Nichols.
Margie, Kristen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 1997, I was in a horrible car accident where my neck & back were fractured in multiple places along with suffering a head injury, shoulder and hip injuries as well. For the next 14 years, I followed the advice of all the western doctors and ended up on 15 different medications a day. I gained over 150 pounds and was suffering daily with chronic pain and inflammation. I was finally recommended to a natural healer. That first appointment was the first time in 14 years I found relief of any kind from the constant pain I suffered.
Today, I am not on any medications other than herbal supplements. I lost 150 pounds and am finally healthy. Massage, herbal remedies, acupuncture, energy healing, crystals and such helped me become the person that I am today. Three years ago when Kristen and I met, we formed an idea to expand on the work we were already doing at events and such and open our own local business. So here we are!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were many challenges along the way from financial to location issues. Without the support of our family and friends we would not be here.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Moonraven Apothecary – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are here to provide a community, a gathering, a resource for those who want to grow, heal, study, teach, etc. We want to enable others to find their path just as we have…to grow their mind, body and spirit. This is what sets us apart from others and what we are most proud of.
We are a local alternative/holistic metaphysical shop offering crystals, crystal jewelry, herbs and more for your body, mind and spirit. We are also Licensed Massage Therapists, Personal Trainer, Reiki Master Practitioners & Instructor, Certified Crystal Healer and Ordained minister.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our future plans are to build on the property we have about 8 minutes north of where we are currently located. We have about 80 acres of family land that we want to build the shop on along with moving our organic gardens to that location. People will be able to come shop, pick their own organic herbs, fruits, etc. We want to hold classes to teach what is what and how it all works together. We want to hold festivals and gatherings to empower others.
