Today we’d like to introduce you to Raquita Pullens.
Raquita, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Where to start, LOL. Pretty much all my life my family has been calling me Tyra Banks. Yet, I was always so quiet and I was the ultimate introvert, very rarely took pictures and very rarely wanted to be seen and on the scene. I decided to change that June 2019 by doing a photoshoot for my 24th birthday, which went AMAZING!!!
I uploaded one of my headshots and got a DM (direct message) 24 hours later from Naima Mora (She won ANTM Cycle 4). I called my mom screaming like ” Ma!!! I’m gonna be famous!!!!!” She basically told me that that was a sign and that I needed to take modeling seriously. As soon as I announced I was taking it seriously; The bookings started, the photoshoot request started and here we are almost one year later and I’m #BookedAndBusy.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, of course not!! Nothing in life is simple and if it has been you should probably read the fine print.
I’ve had days with no messages from companies, or photographers, I’ve had days with not as many likes on a picture I post. Will that stop me from posting ?? No, because I know eventually I WILL get noticed by the right person/company.

I’ve worked with some AMAZING individuals. First and foremost MY FAMILY, they have been so supporting and understanding with me missing events and being away due to events. My Fiance for setting up our living room into a mini studio and helping me book events and sending me castings.
Patricia (CEO of Bel Moun Lakay) for teaching me how to SLAY a runway and for allowing me to be one of her Brand Ambassadors. Kimi (CEO of Chic In Prints) for believing in me from the first time she met me and not letting me go and for allowing me to be one of her Brand Ambassadors. Co-Workers for being so understanding when they have to pick up some of my work because I’m out due to casting.
My MODEL FRIENDS for always being so supportive and always thinking of me when it comes to photoshoots, castings and events. If I had to name everyone I would literally be here forever.
