Today we’d like to introduce you to Ansley Randall.
Ansley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a graphic designer, artist pattern designer, muralist, and party planner based in Jacksonville, Fl. I graduated from Flagler College with a degree in Graphic Design and Fine art in 2010.
I always wanted my own design business. In 2013 I starting the journey of building it and 2018 I went full-time. I was creating a lot more hand made designs and putting my patterns on items. Through creating I saw this need in the art scene to encourage and make known other creatives. Hence, JAX IS RAD was created. We plan out events bringing community and highlighting the art scene while showcasing “RAD” businesses and creatives with our Podcast “Radcast”. JAX IS RAD has grown to 16k follower and continue to grow.
As for my art… its my freedom and passion. I continue to balance both creating and giving back to myself and JAX IS RAD is giving to others. All along I have been putting my art out there and asking people if I can paint their walls and selling my patterns on my handmade products. My art continues to grow and this year, I will continue to push my personal brand to grow more!
Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. Its been a long, very hard journey into who I am as a creative and learning how to run a business, manage a team, and balance everything.
Fear and thinking I am not enough to run a company and put my art out there has been the hardest challenge. I was so scared to mess up or fail and that has been something I have to push through. My “failure” has just made me a stronger person and a better person. Its all so much learning, and I don’t think it will ever end!
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I would describe my work as bold, colorful, and unique. I use a lot of colors, textures, and patterns together. I love the hand-drawn lines that incorporate patterns through my art.
