Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Osorio.
Angie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Bogota, Colombia and being an Entrepreneur was my childhood dream. Ever since I was a little girl I had a mini-office in my room and dreamt of having my own business one day. Of course, as a little girl, I did not know the many challenges in my journey as a business owner and immigrant, but I believe you find happiness when you enjoy things you do in life. I haven’t stopped persuading my dream one single day since I arrived from my country. I first started working with printing companies as a graphic designer but always with the possibility in mind of working by myself. One day, I got the opportunity to do a small freelance project with Flor de Caña rum.
That project transformed my life. From that point, I have been developing materials for the wines & spirits market for the last 18 years. With lost’s of breakdowns and breakthroughs through my journey, I consider that as an Entrepreneur the most amazing experience in life is being able to reinvent myself and get back up again.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all, many challenges have arisen on the way. As an artist, the greatest struggles at the beginning were how to manage the legal documents relating to my business and managing money. However, along the way, I realized that those were unimportant compared with things like learning how to negotiate projects. I made many mistakes when charging my clients, sometimes the price was either too low or too high. I also found difficulty in finding my true identity.
Many years ago I decided to get trained to discover my self-expression. As a result, I have been able to be present to the contribution that I am for the world as well as getting that as an Entrepreneur the learning process never stops.
Cheers Design Agency – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Cheers! When I decided on the name of my business I wanted something to capture who I am as well as the industry I love to work in. I have been working beside others with the Wines & Spirits Industry for many years. I am known for having very good communication skills and being assertive with the completion of my projects.
I am very proud that I have been able to maintain my business for many years, keep the same clients and get very good reviews that make me believe and enjoy more what I do. What sets me apart from others is the ability to be a designer, creative and copy who can capture the message and produce sales intended results that have been proven in long-lasting campaigns.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, success is finding balance in life. According to my criteria through the years I have discovered that as important as my clients are, so are my two beautiful daughters, my personal life, my friends and being a contribution as coach causing others to their own success in life. In the end, what success really means to me is having a well-balanced life with a little bit of everything. Saying this, I won’t enjoy a luxurious car if I can’t enjoy the smiles of my kids.
