Today we’d like to introduce you to Gaetano DiNardi.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Gaetano. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My first big accomplishment in the music business was co-producing a track called “Sounds” for Ryan Leslie and Bobby V. After that, I co-produced a record for Fat Joe called “too quick” on his latest project with Remy Ma. These songs didn’t go platinum or viral on the billboard charts, but they were big milestones for me. It took years to make it happen. People see the success but they don’t see the struggle. That’s the interesting part about the music industry. But the real ones know nothing comes overnight.
Working with Shaggy was also a huge accomplishment for me, he’s such a legend!
To sum it all up – I’m a Songwriter and Producer originally from New York, now residing in Miami, FL. My biggest song from 2019 was a single I released titled, “I Gave You Love” – https://youtu.be/C0yEr-WRW7E
Outside of producing music, I’m also a digital marketing/SEO consultant, currently leading a marketing team at Nextiva – a cloud-based communications company from Scottsdale, Arizona. I run the demand generation marketing team right from my apartment in Miami, and balance that with producing and writing music. I’m an Italian from New York City― one of the most diverse places in the world. My family came here with nothing. It helped me build work ethic, character, respect for others, and a strong sense of self-awareness.
I’m influenced by the all-time greats – Andrea Bocelli, Carlos Santana, Bob Marley – to Michael Jackson, Usher, Pharrell, J Balvin, and Romeo Santos. The biggest influence in my life came from both of my grandmas, Luisa and Crisia. Both have recently passed away, but their legacy lives on through me.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It wasn’t always easy. I recently lost my grandma Luisa to brain cancer and my grandma Crisia to Alzheimer’s. Then following that, my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. When life smacks you in the face, it can throw you off-course and mess up your plans. The key is to fight through it and stay focused.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a true music nerd that loves being in the studio writing and producing. The guitar has always been my biggest influence. If you can imagine combining trap beats with electric guitar, that’s kind of my flavor. You can get a feel for my style by checking out this viral video on Maschine Masters – where I made a beat on the spot with my production partner K-Quick – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_01XFDzTY08
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I think just being able to wake up every day and live life the way you want with minimal stress. To me, that is happiness.
