Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Anderson.
Felicia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About ten years ago, I was actually a model and booked jobs with companies like Disney, Sea World, Visit Florida and more. Each time I’d book a shoot, I became more fascinated by how everything behind the scenes worked and how how they would get that final image! Fast forward to 2015, I was preparing to go on a trip to New York with my husband so I decided to get a nice camera because I wanted bomb pictures for that trip and upcoming trips we had planned. Just so happened while we were there I started to pose him and direct him. I said to myself ” I can do this!” I came back home and immersed myself in all things photography. I was reading, taking online classes, practicing on my dog and all! It wasn’t long until I began taking photos of family and friends. At the end of 2015, I was asked to shoot my very first wedding! (insert gasp of air here) Of course, I said yes and the rest is history! I am now a full-time wedding and lifestyle photographer shooting 20+ weddings a year!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it was smooth. However, I know because of my strong connection with God; I would make sure I prayed about certain avenues and directions to take with my business. I know because of this I avoided a lot of chaos that one can often run into. The one thing I struggled with the most was simply believing that I can do it. As entrepreneurs, we always compare where we are to where someone else is. We have to realize we’ve already won! We’ve taken that first leap of faith and as long as we believe in ourselves, we can do anything we set her hearts and minds to.

I’m happy to say I own multiple businesses. My photography company Felicia V. Photography, Felicia V. Photobooth, Loveli jewels (www.lovelijewels.com) a custom nameplate and jewelry website and an amazon eBook called “Guide to paid child modeling”. I specialize in wedding photography and I’m known for capturing classic, bright and timeless images for couples in love. It makes me so proud that I’ve been published with so many different editors and have amazing reviews online as well! One thing that will set me apart is that no one can be me! You can sell the same service or the same products but you can’t be me! I believe because of my 9+ years of being awarded Top Performer in customer service sales while I worked in corporate America has given me the knowledge to provide the most amazing experience for my couples and clients!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Funny and super cliche but my favorite memory of all time would have to be going to Disney! I was six or seven but I literally remember it like it was five minutes ago! I remember hugging Minnie Mouse so tightly that she had to tell me eventually to let go! What was also interesting about it is that I ended up getting on a ride called Space Mountain that I was terrified at first to get on! The ride seemed so big and so scary but I decided I was going to do it! At the end of the ride, I couldn’t even move because I was still in shock from all the twists and turns but ever since that day, I’ve been in love with roller coasters and there isn’t one I would not try!
