Today we’d like to introduce you to Chavon Jones.
Chavon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
At a young age, I was introduced to DJing by my cousin BJ, on weekends, I would visit him and DJ at block parties and neighborhood parties. Years later I professionally begin DJing for artists such as Suthun Boy, T-Pain and The Nappy Boy Family, Waka Flocka & Bricksquad, and Flo Rida. I’ve also DJed in various clubs in Miami and south beach i.e. Coco’s, Bar Idol, King of Diamonds, Studio 183, G5, Playhouse and more.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been some bumps in the road but without the ups and downs, I wouldn’t be where I am in my career. So going months without working, losing my condo, etc. was part of the process for me.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a club DJ, who does radio, private events, community events, mixtapes and also tours. I’m known for setting the vibe at any party or event I DJ at. I’ve been all over America DJing different parties and events but I’m most proud of being able to DJ in my community, every first Friday of the month I DJ at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theatre, monthly thru our CRA, I DJ different events in the community i.e. Holiday events, empowerment fairs, etc. What set me apart from others? As I stated before, I’m has known as “The Vibe Setter” so you may hear another but he/she won’t set a vibe like me musically!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I live, work and play in the best city in the world. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
