Armando and Blanca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My wife and I are originally from Venezuela and we’ve always known the importance of maintaining safe and secure records and we are excited to show Miami businesses how they can benefit from The File Depot’s document management systems and great customer service.
Back in 2014 in Venezuela, we began looking for businesses to invest in and in 2015 we decided that the File Depot was the right option for us. We saw the opportunity to serve a market that has been neglected by larger companies. We are happy with the results. Our business is not simply to store, shred or digitize records, we also have a commitment of educate about the importance of having personal and business information secured. Every day more and more business become aware of that and that is very satisfactory to us.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business is never easy. And if you are doing so in a different country, with another language and culture is even harder. However, if you have the determination to work hard and give 110% in everything you do, the road get smoother. The main struggle we found was skepticism. Many small business owners didn’t understand the importance of having their records secured and the idea of having them far away from their offices was something inconceivable. Because of that we decided that the fist and most important thing to do was to educate and that is something that we have been working on nonstop and it has definitely paid off.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood would be the times we spent in family! Every summer vacation, Christmas surrounded by the love of my parents and siblings is something that I would cherish forever and it is something that I would like to pass on my children.
I specially remember our first trip to Disney’s World Orlando in 1994, when I finally got to meet Mickey Mouse’s home. Really god times. I also remember that during that trip we got our first SEGA video games console.
