Meet Lilia Moreno and Carlos Arboleya of A.M.A. Arboleya Moreno Art Inc in Wynwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilia Moreno and Carlos Arboleya.

Lilia and Carlos, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Everything started pure love. Love for each other’s and love of art, design fashion and all things creative. Lila always was interested in fashion from an early age inspired by the work of her mother in her native Colombia and later on, she studied graphic design and pursued an interest in street photography and creating handmade jewelry. Carlos(the husband)was a natural born painter. Since an early age was interested in visual arts and music in his native Cuba. For many years he was performing in various musical projects playing guitar in rock bands etc but the true call has always been painting and design as well as fashion. Since the moment we became one. Partners in life as well as in work we have been striving for the highest quality in our products and making accessible our dream to the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
Our motto is: ‘If it ain’t fun, ain’t worth it” or something like that. We started small. Doing local events and we still do0. Some of the best experiences have been through constant interaction with our customers which we love and respect. Everything has been a process of learning and being willing to take risks even when the odds weren’t favorable but following our instinct regardless of the outcome. We focus on the creative aspects and keep the struggle as a challenge to our values and beliefs.

Please tell us about your business.
Quality above all. And loving our products as well as the production itself. When we’re painting or creating jewelry (which is most of our work)we’re putting 300 % and if we are not satisfied completely with the outcome we don’t settle till we get it right. We specialize in handmade and very stylish jewelry with a huge female following but not entirely limited. In our arsenal, we also create wonderful original paintings in recycled-repurposed wood with a whole array of subject matters and various themes. Our products can now be found and purchased at different locations in the Miami area such as The Wynwood Shop, KCULL Marketplace and Tea & Poets. We also specialize in doing custom work working with our customers directly to create an amazing experience.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love how beautiful Miami is. How privileged we are to have one of the best weather in the country and the fact that we’re still growing as a city which brings a lot of creativity and as a cultural melting pot we have a lot of potentials. Not only the beaches, the clubs and the food scene has put us on the map but also the Art .from Art Basel to Wynwood, etc. On the flip side, there’s no excuse for rudeness and the lack of consideration and manners unfortunately displayed by some of our so called neighbors. We should embrace each other and focus on love instead of bickering and hate. Helping each other and fighting ignorance which hurt us not only socially but economically as well.

Pricing:

  • Jewelry usually ranges from $20 to $70 although this can vary depending on the piece.
  • Paintings start at$70 (the price depends on the work as well as the size)
