Today we’d like to introduce you to Izik Gargir.
Izik, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I opened a retail store almost 12 years ago. During this time, I had created a clothing brand in which I was paying elsewhere for screen printing services. I soon learned that this would be much easier and faster if I were to do it on my own.
I slowly learned and started investing in small machines to print our own clothing line. Soon after, word had spread that I was printing these shirts with my own machines and several friends and colleagues had approached me to print their clothing as well. Thus starting Miami Silkscreens.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are always challenges in perfecting any business. I have made several mistakes to then learn how to make a bigger and better company.
I believe the biggest struggle was learning a business that was never really supposed to be. I was learning a whole new business in a very short amount of time.

Miami Silkscreens is a screen printing company that specializes in printing apparel, embroidery and promotional products.
Our specialty is knowing the latest trends in apparel to then consult our clients in keeping up with these trends. Season to season, styles change and being in the retail world allows our company to have added knowledge on what is the latest in fashion/apparel.
We are known for our turnaround time when compared to our competitors. Along with quality control, we care about our customers and are readily available for any of their needs.
We are extremely proud of our client list that we have worked very hard in achieving and maintaining. We have organically grown this business and get referrals by word of mouth.
Miami Silkscreens has a wide range of product that sets us apart from other printing companies. We have grown relationships with many, if not most, wholesale companies in the apparel/printing world.
What were you like growing up?
As a young teen, I always had a job.
I was always eager to make my own money and would always of dream of Entrepreneurship.
I was very outgoing in High school.
I was very sociable and always talking “business”.
