Meet Julia Dogan of Clay Art USA in Fort Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Dogan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Julia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Julia Dogan, and I’m an artist. I have the soul of an artist and wash my paint brushes in a solvent. I believe, that art has to make people think and analyze. I start with making life like flowers with clay and now I grew my art into different departments. The first one, and my favorite is creating artworks. I have two different styles I use mixed materials and make beautiful wall installations with flowers and other objects, and I also make oil paintings with dangerous women these going to be a collection. The second department of my business is online school. I teach people to make realistic clay flowers and arrange them into compositions. So everyone could learn my interesting techniques online. And third, and now temporary paused part of my business is in person classes. I worked hard for three years and traveled all around US and gave a classes in all major cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., Seattle, Orlando, and of course, Miami. I have different periods of my art business, and now I mostly work with my artworks. I have a lot to say, and I fell like I must to do it. And I do.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think no one road could be smooth of course, I had a lot of problems and troubles, especially working with students. The main problem is plagiarism. I generously shared my ideas and they’ve been copied so foolish, right? Maybe this is one of the reasons I paused my in person classes.

We’d love to hear more about your art.
Oh, I messed up! Ok. I do artworks. The real masterpieces. I work in a realistic conceptualism style, so you can easily define what is on the painting, but you have to think why is it here. My artworks telling the stories, but everyone identifies them differently. I just think you should look at them and you will understand what I mean. I also offer online classes for everyone who wants to learn how to make clay flowers the way I make them.

What were you like growing up?
First, I love flowers and I love art. I decided to connect them and started to create flowers with clay. I shared it on social media and people started to ask me to teach them to do the same. This way I run my in-person classes. People from different states asked me about classes, and then I launch online school. At this time, I had no time for my art, because management took all my time and power. And one day, I realized that it couldn’t continue this anymore so I paused my in-person classes and fell into creating artworks. In September 2019, I presented my artworks at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., and it was amazing!
