Today we’d like to introduce you to John Morales.
John, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After graduating from FIU in spring 2019 I knew that there were plenty of options and routes I could go but my ultimate goal was owning a personal training facility. I took a deep look inside to realize and understand the amount of devotion and energy that was required so I decided to travel. I traveled to Europe for 29 days where I met with different gym or box owners to get insight and inspiration. Started in Milan, London, Amsterdam, Rome, Barcelona, Olbia, Madrid, and Switzerland. I understood that opening my facility was a dream and for me to make it a reality I first had to be stimulated and experience the feeling of building something that has never been seen before.
My background as a personal trainer/strength coach is deeply rooted in the city of Miami. From personal training in the Hialeah / North Miami area to coaching multiple high schools in Dade and Broward county to Interning for the FIU strength staff. I have been blessed to have experience and collectively develop a sense of style to fits the city that raised me. After six years InVivo Strength and Conditioning will finally be a location in your GPS. Opening in December we will be entering 2020 with a clear vision for the future. It’s been a long time coming I’m just glad I’m enjoying this journey.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I believe that the luxury of not having it is getting it. Some things and processes are required to be a business owner and no one gives out hand out to how to be one. I remember listening to 99. Jamz when I was younger and hearing Rick Ross say “yo it’s yo boy Rozay It Cost to be the boss”. Back then I didn’t understand what he meant by that but now, I’m hustlin’. My approach in transitioning from an independent trainer to the owner is simply just managing and learning the other side of the game. Being diverse and not just being one dimensional.
Tell us about your company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
My company name is InVivo Strength and Conditioning. There are many gyms with more equipment, space, and resources but InVivo is about maximizing what you’re capable of and doing more than just that, its not okay to be good when you can be great. It’s a feeling, its way of thinking, its a way of being, it’s an experience. For you to know you’ll have to find out. Imagine walking into a weight room that resembles everything Miami stands for and is proud of. It’s unique like no other gym, let’s just say “If You Know You Know” #IYKYK.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The goal is to think globally and act locally with a mission. Surround my self hard working, let’s go get it individuals and do something special.
