Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Timberlake.
Cristina, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It has been a dream of mine to have an American college experience. In Ecuador, where I am from, college is a little bit different. It is not known for the college campus experience or student life. Schools are more commuter type schools. So I always wanted to come to the US to get that experience.
In 2012, I moved to Springfield, Missouri where I graduated from The Breech Business School at Drury University and had the best time. I made life-long friendships and also met my husband. Drury was a life-changing experience for me. As a liberal arts school, it introduced me to different cultures and studies and more than anything, made me curious. This curiosity eventually landed me in a career that I didn’t initially imagine myself being in, but now it has become a passion of mine and I dedicate every day to it.
Today, my company, CTG Bookkeeping, serves business owners in a critical area of their business and gives them the time and the freedom to succeed and grow their businesses. No one ever starts a company so they can be “tax compliant”.
As bookkeeping and tax planning can be time-consuming and tedious, we take care of cleaning-up and keeping-up with businesses’ books to save them time and money. No matter the business’ size or budget, I believe there should be a plan and support available for businesses to succeed and grow!
Has it been a smooth road?
As with many entrepreneurs, there have been ups and downs. One of the main struggles has been getting over the fact that accounting can be simple and done without CPAs or Financial Advisors. I have to remind myself that bookkeeping services offered at CTG Bookkeeping have a different value proposition; we are personable, automated and invested in our client’s books as much as our own.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
My company is CTG Bookkeeping, we specialize in small business bookkeeping. This year, my husband who is a CPA joined the CTG team and we introduced tax preparation services for individuals and businesses.
We are known for offering bookkeeping services for small businesses with less than $1,000 in monthly expenses. Known as the “Starter Package”, this package welcomes start-ups and freelancers who want to focus on growing their business instead of stressing about their bookkeeping and taxes. We also offer a package for business with $1,000 – $10,000 in expenses, our “Medium Package” as well as larger businesses with over $10,000 in expenses.
CTG Bookkeeping sets itself apart from other firms by providing CPA quality work without the high, unpredictable fees charged by CPA firms.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I relocated from Springfield, Mo to Miami in January of this year. It was definitely quite the move, but I have completely fallen in love with my new city! I love how culture diverse it is and how I can walk almost anywhere, it makes me feel energized and connected! And I never thought I would say this, but I can’t wait for Winter. Florida’s winter time is the best time!
Least favorite, not too many. Probably August’s hot days as walking outside gets a little harder.
