Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Drew.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my 3D printing company in July 2018 with my husband. We combined our love for 3D printing and Disney. My husband fell in love with 3D printing before we started the company. He has 3D printed a tabletop arcade and even therapy toys for our autistic son (mostly fidget spinners). When we started the company, we had no idea where it would go. We were just hoping for some sales here and there. Nothing crazy just enough to help with therapies for our son and maybe some Disney trips. But little did we know where all this would go. January 2019, things skyrocketed and our company blossomed. We are so happy and blessed to be where we are today. We could not do this without our son, who pushes us to be better every day. Because of our company our son is more confident and is able to wear hats with our ears on them or even wear a helmet we made for him. These are truly the moments that make this worth it. We both work full-time jobs. He is a police officer and I am an office manager at a law firm. In addition to school, our son does 25-30 hours of therapy a week and to be able to 3D print therapy toys is a blessing.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a rough road and a lot of trial and error. It has especially been rough balancing our jobs, therapies, school and our business.
JSA Cr3Dtions – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a 3D printing company that prints mouse ears for people to wear on their Disney trips. We love making people’s trip magical. We love that we can be creative and a part of someone’s memories. Our company is different from others because of our unique and custom designs.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I would define success in making a difference in people’s lives. Not only through my products but through our autism journey. My personal criteria is making sure our customers are happy. Also, listening to the customer’s feedback to ensure the quality of our products.
