Tania Speaks is a 17-year-old, enthusiastic teen entrepreneur and founder of Brow Boost, an organic skincare company. At the age of 15, Tania formulated Brow Boost, an organic eyebrow gel for individuals who desire to tame their bushy eyebrows as well as grow thinning brows. At a young age, Tania endured bullying for having bushy brows. She was too young to be professionally serviced. Tania was motivated
and determined to find a solution to her problem brows. Following the success of Brow Boost, in 2017, she introduced her new men’s line called Beard Boost – an organic beard oil. The remarkable success of her products strengthened her business more than 60% in her first five months as a professional teen entrepreneur. She has obtained additional capital by winning several business pitch competitions and has been featured in Forbes, Black Enterprise, Sheen, The Root, and named one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential Teens of 2018.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business is challenging but I’ve learned lessons along the way that motivate and prepare me for the next phases in my business. A struggle along the way has been learning to be patient. There are many complications within running a business such as finding resources and capital and often times it takes a while to find help but that has tested my faith and dedication making it extremely important to develop patience in the process and not only the outcome. It is a journey. Also, I faced a great deal of age discrimination, starting my business at the young age of 15, and it was imperative for me to show my maturity and professionalism.
Brow Boost – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am known for overcoming bullying, inspiring others, and starting a successful business as a teen. As a brand, I am most proud of the transparency and connections I make with my customers as well as the organic quality and integrity of my products. My brand is reliable, affordable, and easy to use.
So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
My plans for the future are expanding the brand with more products, distributing to retail, and being an advocate against bullying.
