Meet Trailblazer Aubrey Wollett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubrey Wollett.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Aubrey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a Country Music Singer-Songwriter originally from the Tampa Bay area. I moved to Nashville to finish college at Belmont University which is where I earned a Music Business degree. I originally worked on the business side to learn the ‘ins outs’ and of the industry. I accepted a job on music row with one of the top hit songwriters, Dallas Davidson, who’s written songs for Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, among many others. After a few years, I decided to pursue my own career and have since opened up for country artists such as Tanya Tucker, Hunter Hayes, Billy Currington, Carly Pearce, Jerrod Niemann, and even for Jay Leno on his comedy tour last year. My last single Saltwater Gypsy was premiered on CMT (Country Music Television) and also won an International Singer-Songwriter Association Award for 2019 Music Video of the Year. I have a brand new single Better on a Beach that is available everywhere now!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an Independent Artist definitely has its challenges. I’ve had record labels say that I’m not ready, or that I don’t fit for what they’re looking for. I also had to take a leap of faith by leaving the comfort of my job on the business side with a well-known songwriter to pursue my own passion. People probably thought I was crazy. I’ve had many doors close in front of me, but I’ve always stayed persistent and continued to search for the next door that’s right for me. I truly believe when doors close it’s usually for the best and ends up working out better than you had planned.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Country Singer-Songwriter with a country soul and a beach flair. I am mostly known for the beach songs I write, especially my single Saltwater Gypsy. Saltwater Gypsy has been a career changer for me in many ways. The Music Video premiered on CMT and it also won the 2019 Music Video of the Year at the International Singer-Songwriter Association Awards. I also have a wine in Thomasville, GA named after the song. This song was written by myself and one of my artist friends Kristie Lovelady.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The best advice I’ve been given as an artist was to write what you know and stay true to who you are, fans are smarter than you think. People like authenticity, especially with social media being so prevalent in our world today. Also, the more “no’s” you receive, the closer to the one yes you may need for your career to take off. Never stop evolving as an artist and don’t give up!
