Meet Parker Jazz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Jazz.

Parker, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am a music producer based in LA but I have strong ties with many collaborators in Miami. I began production in my senior year of high school and it turned from a hobby to my career after graduating from FSU. I produce music primarily for Matty Wood$ and Brandon Gomes, and I have collaborated with Palm Beach natives 1040, Kuya, and G.P3$0, in addition to producing music for the 1k Show which is hosted every year in Miami. I also co-founded VIIX Sounds, an indie record label in Florida.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I produce music with Native Instruments Maschine Software and their Komplete Kontrol M32 Keyboard. I infuse soulful melodies with urban percussion, often times creating a “sampled” feeling by chopping my own compositions. My sound adjusts to each artist I work with, but at the core my production has a relaxed feel that’s ideal for a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success as an artist is the ability to live comfortably while making an impact with your art. The level of comfort required for each artist differs, but I really think if you wake up and your only job is to create, then you have succeeded. There will still be undesirable tasks when art is your only job, but I believe this is a key measure to success as an artist. The level of impact your art makes is critical as well, but I believe if your desire to make art is genuine, and you complete the first task I mentioned, you will make an immense impact along the way.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My music is available on all major streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and more. I also upload a nostalgic beat video to my YouTube channel every week. People can support my work by purchasing beats or loop kits from my website.
