Today we’d like to introduce you to Shiann Orle and Denasia Moore.
Denasia and Shiann met at a former local dance studio in Miami Design District as co-workers. Originally from Miami, Shiann is a New World School of the Arts Alumni in dance professional trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Flamenco, African and more. As a New York native, Denasia moved to Miami five years ago to pursue her dream of becoming not only an established creative director but to continue to expand her horizons in the dance community. Some of her clients in the music industry include Major Lazer, 2 Chainz, Jhene Aiko, Big Sean, Migos, Apple Music, Dazed Magazine, Alexander Wang and more. After the dance studio closed June of 2018, Denasia and Shiann partnered in hopes to create a local dance space of their own. After months of planning, investing, and finding the perfect location, their dream of becoming dance studio owners became a reality March of 2019. Dance Center of Florida was born right in the heart of Miami offering various styles to both children and adults. Dance at the surface, Community at the core.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Opening a dance studio or any type of business isn’t easy. This we learned early on. As two young female entrepreneurs before we had the opportunity to open our doors to the public, we went through some of the most stressful encounters since Dance Center of Florida’s location was a previous well-known establishment. We are thankful for the advantage of walking into a space that came built out and ready for use but the constant battle of rebuilding a positive environment, in a space that left a bad reputation in the dance community, hasn’t been smooth sailing. Our goal is to bring new energy to our local multi-use dance studio, that provides professional instruction in a variety of dance styles, helping students to develop an appreciation for art, express themselves creatively, and lead physically healthy lifestyles.

As a new studio and business Dance Center of Florida is most proud of being a space that welcomes all styles of dance, ages & levels, and a space that can be used to bring creative visions to life! Although our main focus is building a solid dance program, we are also very passionate about partnering with local organizations, schools, and other programs to make a difference in our community through dance. We specialize in a variety of technical training for adults and children introducing students to over 10 different classes throughout the summer and academic school year such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, African, Jazz Funk, Acrobatics, Yoga, Stretch & Conditioning. Dance Center of Florida is building relationships with choreographers and dancers internationally to make our local studio a safe space and destination for all dancers.
How do you define success?
Our biggest definition of success at Dance Center of Florida is consistency. In the dance industry, we want to be sure that we are consistent in our approach, customer service, class schedule, and overall energy. Without consistency and organization, it can be hard to reach a goal. By staying consistent, we believe that we have been able to reach and even surpass some of our goals. The key is pushing through to stay motivated. Personally, every day is a success story to tell if you’re able to push through all the negativity, backlash, and downfalls to stay motivated. Optimism goes a long way even when facing obstacles and adversities that seem impossible to overcome. We choose to remain positive and manifest the best for our future as a new and growing business.
