Today we’d like to introduce you to Burger Beast.
Burger, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Back in September of 2008 I started a blog about Burgers & Comfort Food. Somewhere along the way, I began to add historical posts to the blog about locations and restaurants that were no longer around. It was also at this time that a friend of mine gifted a “Burger Chef” sign to me. There were no Burger Chef restaurants in South Florida so the chain intrigued me.
Next thing I was online bidding on old items from Burger Chef. Those are the origins of the Burger Museum collection which now has over 5000 pieces but 3500 on display at the actual Burger Museum.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nah. Anything that has value in life normally is an adventure and a struggle. The worst struggle by far was the person we hired to do the actual build out of the Burger Museum walked out on us with over 75% of the money already paid and everything unfinished and/or partially completed. It was frustrating but a friend of mine introduced me to someone who saved the day, understood my vision and made it happen.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Burger Museum – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Burger Museum is trying to capture the history of the restaurants and food that made America what it is.
We are most proud that we are independent and strive to portray everything in its most primal way. There are no sponsors or investors trying to sway how we do anything.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best part of Miami is the diversity of the people who live and visit here. The worst thing by far in Miami is traffic, it’s unbearable.
