Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecie Gonzalez.
Cecie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It’s all about chasing dreams and getting rid of the inhibitions that stop you from pursuing them.
I’ve always loved fashion and those around me have always known me to be a themed dresser. I love dressing according to the occasion by incorporating my own personal style. I get inspired by my surroundings and day to day encounters.
My siblings were always so persistent in me sharing my sense of style, that I finally decided (and caved) into starting the @theme_dresser Instagram account. As my following grew, so did the job opportunities. I then began offering styling and personal shopping services. Collaborations came next. I began working closely with boutiques in South Miami and in turn began establishing my clientele.
Most recently, I traveled to Mexico and fell in love with this one of a kind hand painted hats. The style of the hats inspired me and I decided to share with those in the United States. People fell in love with the hats as much as I did and since then, my clientele has grown so much varying from girls in their 20s to women in their 50s.
Now, I’m just focusing on curating my online boutique, while participating in pop-ups and networking events.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the most part, I feel blessed in that opportunities continue to present themselves. It’s never easy, but I’ve learned that hardwork and persistence is the only way to learn and grow.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Theme Dresser story. Tell us more about it.
My style is classic with an edge. There’s nothing worse than walking into a party where I’m wearing the same piece as someone else. I like to elevate my look with one of a kind pieces. I’m creating a brand that offers women a chance to stand apart from the rest. My dream is to eventually have my own boutique and I’m just working towards that end goal. I’m happy that I took a risk in fulfilling my passion and I hope to inspire women along the way.
