Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Thompson.
Natalie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I can remember, I have always been a very creative person. When I bought my first camera, it never left my side. I would take pictures of everyone and everything!
I have recently moved to Miami from the UK. I have absolutely fallen in love with the charming beaches, parks and endless sunshine that the city has to offer.
I specialize in portraiture photography, I prefer using natural sunlight, nothing can beat that golden light. I take pride in capturing the person’s characteristics and personality through my images.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There hasn’t been that many obstacles along the way…so far. When shooting outside you depend on having good weather and sometimes you cannot predict the weather. Also, you cannot guarantee that people will show up. I take it in my stride now, there are some things you cannot control.
Please tell us about Natalie Thompson Photography.
I specialize in portrait photography. One day I can be shooting a family portrait, the next day can be for an engagement, the next for an event. So, no two days are the same.
I am most proud of the fact that I can capture something in a moment in time and it will last in an image forever.
I believe what sets me apart is that I enjoy what I do and I take pride in creating a story in all of my pictures.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
At the beginning, I didn’t have much confidence in myself as a photographer. I would have approached other photographers for advice. It wasn’t until I got experience in photography that I became confident in my work and myself.
