Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Arteaga.
Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had creative ambitions from an early age when I worked at her grandmother’s potter’s wheel. I was fascinated with pottery and the decorative elements of the process. I envisioned creating beautiful spaces and at 18, I enrolled in Harrington College of Design in Chicago where I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design. The Kohler Corporation employed me to design bathrooms and interiors in their Chicago location. After 12 years, I decided to form my own design firm. My expertise in plumbing combined with my innate passion for art and construction makes me an exceptional designer. I am versatile and have done many furniture designs and full kitchen and bath renovations, along with boutique commercial projects. I have a strong understanding of color, surfaces and pulling all elements together. I strive to create a space that is truly unique and functional for each of my clients!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any new business, there will always be challenges. I feel that with my can-do attitude I find myself wearing all the hats in the business from account to designer. I feel that is the way it makes you a strong business owner, to understand the challenges in each department and learn to overcome them. Wherever there is a problem there will be a solution.
Envirans Design Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company focuses on residential and boutique commercial. I am known for my amazing bath and kitchen designs. I like to put personal touches on the project and have my clients really think about every aspect of the room we are working on. I feel that what I bring to the table is not only a passion and talent for my craft but my listening skills. From initially understanding my client’s goals, I progress to offering design suggestions and solutions. I work together with my clients to make their vision work.
I am punctual, easy to work with and my goal is to have every client absolutely thrilled upon project completion. I look forward to working with you. Let’s create something magnificent together!
Do you feel like there are certain traits that increase the likelihood of success?
Listening to my clients and understanding their goals. Also being transparent with my clients and giving them what they want.
