Conversations with Rommie Fairchild

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rommie Fairchild.

Hi Rommie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
After moving to Miami and being baptized into the Body of Christ in 2019, I was looking for a new hobby that would occupy my idol time and keep me out of trouble when I wasn’t making music at home. I already had an interest in trying new foods as I was approaching my 30’s, and I have a passion for helping small businesses like mines since 2015, so I started a foodie page in 2022 to help contribute to the community and impact the businesses and lives of other small business owners and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only obstacle along the way has to be juggling between my personal life struggles and keeping up the motivation to keep going with this business. However, God is so good to allow me to find ways to stay motivated and keep pursuing my dreams!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Primarily I’m a music producer as of 2012. I specialize in soulful, melodic, and smooth south Florida and West Coast-type beats. I’m most known for my “Plugg!” producer tag; it can be heard in such tracks as Drake’s “From Florida with Love” to Miami artist Lil Dred’s album “Dred vs. Robots, to “Trapper of The Year” by the Late Fredo Santana.

I have always had a great passion for content creation since high school! I used to have a YouTube channel and recreate episodes of pimp my ride at my school lol.

I am most proud of the way God has allowed my voice to end up almost everywhere in the world, I never would have thought this tag would also be used by thousands of other producers worldwide. God is awesome for that!

What sets me apart from others is my will to be original, I strayed away from making what everyone else desires me to make to making music that expresses my feelings and my perspective of life. I want to be remembered for staying true to myself and my relationship with Christ.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love best about Miami is the many cultural influences here; from Brazil and Cuba to Mexico, to Haiti, Jamaica, etc. I have the opportunity to meet new people from these cultures and bring home a piece of each nationality each time I encounter a new friend.

The only thing I don’t like about Miami is that the beach doesn’t stay open 24/7 lol. I could stay out there all day and night if it were possible! But on a serious note, I only wish we could stop the violence! I wish more people would put down the guns and stop taking innocent lives.
