Tamara Amador of Miami lakes on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tamara Amador. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Tamara, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Running brings me joy because it reminds me how far I’ve come. I used to struggle to make it even a few minutes, but now I can run for 10 minutes straight without stopping and that feels like such a victory. Every run shows me that I’m getting stronger, not just physically but mentally too. What once felt impossible now feels freeing. Running has become my little celebration of progress, discipline, and self-belief.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Tamara Amador, and I’m the co-founder of PureHollywood Beauty, which I run alongside my sister Aixa. Together, we’ve built a brand that’s become a trusted name in luxury beauty, specializing in lash extensions, powder brows, permanent makeup, and skincare. With over 10 years of experience and having worked with more than 1,000 clients, we take pride in creating soft, natural, and timeless results that enhance each client’s confidence and individuality.

What makes PureHollywood Beauty unique is the energy and passion behind it — two sisters who turned their shared love for beauty and artistry into a thriving business built on empowerment, education, and trust. Beyond our studio, we’re expanding into digital education, eBooks, and mentorship programs to help other artists grow and build sustainable beauty careers.

At its heart, our brand is about transformation — not just in how women look, but in how they feel.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a little tomboy — the first girl in a family full of boys and boy cousins. We all lived together in one apartment, surrounded by laughter, loudness, and the vibrant energy of our Latin culture. My childhood was wild, fun, and full of life — an environment that taught me how to be tough, outspoken, and unafraid to take up space.

I never played with Barbies; I was too busy running around with the boys and learning how to hold my own. Being taller than everyone my age also meant I had to stand out early on — and eventually, I learned to embrace that. Those experiences shaped my strong character, discipline, and confidence. They taught me to walk in my power and to never shrink myself for anyone. That fearless little girl still lives in me today — she’s the reason I go after everything I want without hesitation.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me something success never could — that resilience and purpose are born through pain and perseverance. Success often celebrates the outcome, but suffering reveals your strength, faith, and the sacrifices behind it. Through every challenge, I’ve learned that resilience and suffering go hand-in-hand — you can’t truly appreciate growth without struggle.

For me, success isn’t about money or status; it’s about impact. It’s seeing someone walk out of my chair happier, more confident, and feeling better than when they came in. That’s real fulfillment. Suffering has taught me that life doesn’t always go as planned — sometimes God’s detours are necessary to guide you exactly where you’re meant to be. It’s in those moments that I’ve learned to stay grateful for both the small wins and the big ones, because they all shape the woman I’m becoming.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that what really matters to me is loyalty, truth, and genuine connection. I value long-term friendships and relationships built on honesty and accountability. I’m very family-oriented, and I believe that the people who are meant to be in your life will stay — no matter what.

To me, real love and friendship mean showing up, working through challenges, and appreciating the moments you have together, even when life gets busy. I’ve learned to cherish the people around me and make the best out of every situation. At the end of the day, it’s not about perfection — it’s about presence, effort, and loyalty.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I think what I would regret most is not taking the time to truly live and enjoy the life I’ve worked so hard to build. There’s such a strong culture around being a “boss babe” — and while I’ve lived that grind, I’ve also felt the burnout that comes with constantly giving that energy. Now that my business is stable and thriving, I’ve learned the importance of slowing down and embracing what really matters.

I find joy in motherhood, being a partner, taking care of myself, and creating a healthy lifestyle. I’ve realized that being “soft” isn’t weak — it’s necessary. You can’t pour from an empty cup. So I try to protect my peace, enjoy the simple moments, and live a life that feels full, not just busy. If I didn’t allow myself that balance, that peace — that’s what I’d truly regret.
