Story & Lesson Highlights with Todria Wiggins of Fort Lauderdale

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Todria Wiggins. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Todria, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Well recently, I lose track of time shopping around in stores. It feels good to know that you’ve set yourself a up with a list of things to grab and purchase. Then, seeing things to add to that very list. I get to take my time uninterrupted, going down as many isles as I want. And what brings me the most joy out of it all, having everything that I needed paid for. Just being able to brings me joy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m now a MUA Instructor, Leader and Mentor. I am also an experienced Tax and Credit Professional. I am focused on building both businesses, but in this moment I would like to focus on my Makeup business.
I help other woman master their art with makeup application. Whether that’s on themselves or someone else. My brand is a lot bigger than what it use to be (and that’s the point where you would want to reach). My brand showcases confidence, empowerment, and having grace as a black woman in business. We wear many hats when it comes down to it. So I get to be that example for the women in my age range. It comes with tears, worries, hard work and A LOT of faith for sure! As many times as I wanted to give up on this, my spirit wouldn’t allow me to do so. Knowing how to pivot in business is key. And that’s what I had to do. Change a little bit here and there, but never gave up! Right now, I’m focusing on my 1on1 Master Class for the upcoming 2026 year. Working behind the scenes to make this happen effortlessly and effectively. I want women to know that they can save money or even make money by learning from me. This is just the beginning of a new journey.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I really love this question. I was someone who didn’t think I had to take on both male and female roles for myself alone. Before, I was always dependent on a male for help in different areas of my life. But the world taught me that I can do EVERYTHING that I needed said help from a male. After understanding that, my outlook on life changed. Physically my lenses felt different and my thought process shifted. Emotionally, I gained confidence that I didn’t think I had stored inside of me. It felt as if I snapped into this being that I felt safe with. And I will always remember this point in my life because it was needed.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me how to keep a humbling spirit. In my wilderness, I still had blessings to count everyday. Just because I don’t have the things that I want in my suffering doesn’t mean that I will never receive them either. But because I’m suffering, I still had to count the blessings that I was given. I moved slower, I thought slower, I responded slower. And I believe success will not happen ever if you never suffered. Whether you’ve succeeded quicker than most, or slower than the rest.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
It is, I am the same person on and off of the internet. You will get what I give based on my mood, environment, etc. If you’ve noticed, there’s different apps but they all are similar in functionality right? Well, you take an app for one thing, the next one for another and so on and so forth. That’s pretty much how I operate. I’m all one person, but I do have many different layers.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would hope people say that I am an inspiration to others. As much as people inspire me, I know for a fact that I inspire others. My beginning or ending to things gives people, who I have inspired or impacted, a chance to stand up and share. I have already been told personally that I do so. And that’s pretty big to me.
