Story & Lesson Highlights with JUSTIN BATES of North Miami

JUSTIN BATES shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

JUSTIN, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Who are you learning from right now?
Master Hoa is a Vietnamese practicing acupuncture since he’s been a little boy from his father. He has been practicing holistic medicine for 60 plus years

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a licensed acupuncturist holistic medicine practitioner. I help people identify and improve disharmonies pertaining to health and wellness. I think what makes it unique is that I am able to help a wide range of people in many ways. I’ve helped woman get pregnant, helped people regain eye sight, and the ease pain and relief stress. My story is to help people regain their lives as being sick it is an impairment on living. As life is made from moments I don’t think we should be living hindered.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I used to be an outside person, used to either be on the basketball courts balling baseball, riding bikes, athletics activities, climbing trees being in dirt, swimming in the ocean. climbing trees.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
There’s a quote that goes good fortune conceals genius when misfortune reveals it. Suffering shows how bad you want it

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
That there can be more that one right answer. Thinking life is complex, That our experience is separate from each other

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
That I did it for my ancestry, I saw a picture of my grandmother and noticed that she was missing a leg, my father had diabetes and I remember him wearing a cast on his leg. I was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis at about 11. This is about healing the human spirit and possibly connecting to the higher power. There was a story that summarized that humans lived for thousands of years and God shortened the life span as if we will be wicked for 1000 years that we will wicked for 100 years. In today I see it that were we live chronic diseases are happening to younger people. People are stressed and people living fast as that you can travel the world, have sex eat food from each season experience each emotion all in one day. If we continue to live fast we shorten our life span.
