We recently had the chance to connect with Jaalen Jones and have shared our conversation below.
Jaalen, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Having the freedom and ability to travel when I desire has brought me the most amount of joy outside of work lately. I’ve always said that controlling my 24 hours in a day is like having a super power.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I like to say I’m still a Southern Alabama kid at heart, but I’ve built my adult life in Miami, where I moved at 18 to attend the University of Miami. While there, I competed in Track & Field and earned my degree in Exercise Physiology. After graduation, I founded an In-Home Training Company that focused primarily on helping prenatal and postpartum mothers. More recently, I’ve transitioned into a space that combines science and performance—using DNA insights to coach high-performing individuals and help them reach their most optimal selves
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I realized that I was in control of how I spent my 24 hours each day as a business owner. That awareness gave me a sense of freedom and responsibility. Now, I approach life the way I think of Monopoly—you’re given the same pieces and the same board, but it’s up to you to decide how to arrange and play them. That mindset has shaped how I create opportunities and build strategies in both business and life
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Success polishes the surface; suffering refines the soul.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Respect – Without it, everything else is lost.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
Setting boundaries and continuing to prioritize my growth.
