Federica Nava shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Federica, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Proud to have built a new business (Stitched by Fede) from scratch since January this year and to see how far we’ve come! From starting out in our home workshop to now having a mobile cart for event activations, the growth has been incredible. Excited for what’s next!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Federica, the founder of Stitched by Fede. We create custom embroidered & acrylic pieces and personalized gifts for individuals, brands, and teams. What makes us unique is our focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail—every piece is thoughtfully designed and stitched with care. We started from a small home workshop, and now we bring our creations to life at events with our mobile cart, connecting directly with our community.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was a little girl, I loved creating experiences for my friends—simple things like tea times or small gatherings. I enjoyed picking themes, adding dress codes, and making every detail special + always adding a personalized touch. That’s when I realized how much I love creating, crafting and planning, a passion that’s stayed with me ever since.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
After COVID, I considered going back to corporate and even took a 9-5 job, but it only lasted about six months. I realized that my true passion is building and growing my own companies (Federica Nava Events, Flora by FN, & now Stitched by Fede), so I knew I had to focus on making them bigger and better—this is what I truly love doing.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely a lot on other creators because I believe exploring what everyone else is doing is the best way to discover what you love. It inspires you to create new things and express your own unique style.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Doing what I was born to do 100%!
