Hi Esperanza, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to keep going and exploring my creative passions. In a world that feels like it’s too big to fit into, it feels scary sometimes to continue following what brings me joy. I am leaning into my authentic voice and expression and although it can be daunting at times, it feels very natural in this moment to step into.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! I’m Esperanza, the visionary behind Solares Gems—a jewelry brand rooted in intention and craftsmanship. Specializing in handmade pieces that bridge the gap between spirituality and style, I transform crystals into sacred tools for personal transformation. My mission is to create tangible companions for those navigating the journey back to their truest selves
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I wasn’t creative. I believed that being creative meant being a painter or sculptor or something grand but it wasn’t until I began making jewelry with my hands that I realized I had a creative spirit all along—from loving to dance to being an avid journal writer most of my life.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some wounds I’ve struggled with is using my voice and allowing myself to be seen. Making my jewelry, showing up for myself both online and in markets, also working retail most of my life all have joined in helping me speak up, go up to and talk to others and bring me out of my shell. Although, I can be a very shy and introverted person, I love talking and meeting people, listening and sharing stories with them and seeing how healing it can be.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
That every human being deserves love, kindness, to be heard and protected by their loved ones, community and governments.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people share the stories of how I shared my light, my heart and a listening ear with them. At the end of the day, I’d love to be remembered for the goodness of my heart and its pure intentions.
