We’re looking forward to introducing you to Caityn Williams. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Caityn, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
The older I get, the more I realize that the greatest opportunity for learning and growth – is when i look for it in myself. Every day I strive to be better than the day before. I learn from my mistakes, my achievements, my good days and bad.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Caitlyn Williams, and I am the owner of Caitlyn’s Cleaning here in Inverness, Florida. While my business primarily focuses on residential cleaning, I also have extensive experience in commercial, post-construction, and rental and Airbnb cleanings.
Cleaning has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mother owned a construction cleaning business, and from a young age I often accompanied her to job sites. Through that experience, I developed a strong work ethic and a genuine appreciation for the satisfaction that comes from transforming a space. I began assisting my mother on jobs early on, and by the age of sixteen, I was cleaning homes independently.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to clean in a wide range of environments, including hospitals, hotels, restaurants, offices, and, of course, private homes. I truly love what I do—not only for the work itself, but for the connections and relationships that come with it. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I consider it an honor to work in spaces that are so personal and meaningful to my clients. I take great pride in that trust and never take it for granted.
The driving force behind my business is my son. I became a mother at eighteen years old, unsure of what the future would hold. Eight years later, I am incredibly proud to have an amazing son, a wonderful husband, and a business that genuinely brings me joy. I believe God placed this passion for cleaning in my heart, and my goal is to share that passion with others by helping make their lives a little easier.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I was 22 years old when I experienced first hand – the grief of losing a loved one to suicide. I’ve always known that death is inevitable, and often unpredictable. I did not know how heavy it feels when it is intentional. The grief forced me to find a new perspective for life. I tell the people I love that I love them every chance I get. I am kind to the unkind and I always lend a hand or listening ear when i can. I remind myself everyday that the way people treat others is more often than not, a reflection of how they feel inside. I remember that every interaction you have with others is an opportunity to leave a positive impact. You can be standing next to a person who is falling apart inside while smiling on the outside. I don’t assume I know what anyone is feeling, and I strive to lead with curiosity and kindness.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
When I was 15 I suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), three skull fractures and a brain hemorrhage. I was diagnosed with amnesia, I experienced hearing loss, and above all else I endured immense pain in my head and body. I spent the next year in bed and I have spend the last 11 years piecing together memories from my first 15. From my injury came a plethora of side effects. Insomnia, migraines, anxiety, nightmares, hearing loss, brain fog, memory loss, and so on. I spent a long time convincing myself that I would never amount to anything, that I would never be happy. Through raising my son, I have healed so much in myself. In him I see myself – his strength, intelligence, heart, humor, brains, wit. I realize he is the incredible boy he is, because God put me in the position to be his mother. I have found myself again, and every day that I get to be his mother I realize exactly why I was given another chance at life that day – because he was meant to come along.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Definitely my mom! I call that poor woman atleast once every day. Most times it is for no reason other than to tell her what I’m doing. She is the strongest woman I know and she is the first person I call for advice or anything I need.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think my customers would miss my positive attitude and outlook. My big smile and go get em attitude. I work hard and truly try to leave everyone in a better mood than I found them in.
