We’re looking forward to introducing you to Audrey Keliehor. Check out our conversation below.
Audrey, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day with Audswimmers always starts with coffee and a peek at my scheduling software to see which swimmers I get to splash around with that day. Depending on the roster, I’m usually thinking about which toys or stickers to pack, because motivation comes in all forms.
Some days are half days, others are full swim marathons, so I plan my lunch (and snacks!) accordingly. On average, I teach anywhere from 5 to 13 lessons a day, traveling between pools from sunrise to sunset — 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, staggering swims with 15–30 minute drives in between.
I try to capture a few fun “socials” throughout the day too, a smiling swimmer here, a sunny pool there; anything that shows off the joy and growth happening at Audswimmers. Every day looks a little different, but that’s the best part!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Audrey, the founder and head coach behind Audswimmers, a travel swim school that brings lessons straight to families across South Florida. My program focuses on building water confidence and safety through a fun, inclusive, and patient approach, from toddlers taking their first splash to adults learning to swim for the first time.
What makes Audswimmers special is my flexible, travel-based motto, offering consistent swim lessons right in your community or backyard pool. Flexible scheduling and convenience are at the heart of what Audswimmers provides, making it easier for families to fit swim education into their everyday lives.
Right now, my focus is on expanding seasonal offerings and growing my coaching team, and there’s a little surprise coming back next year! In summer 2025, Audswimmers launched private lifeguarding services with an incredible staff… and you may see those friendly faces circling back for summer 2026.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that shaped how I saw myself the most was the one I had with my older sister, Grayson. I never wanted to be her, but I always wanted to be like her, that’s the joy of being a younger sister. She had this natural, effortless way of making me feel seen, appreciated, and completely myself. She noticed things about me I didn’t always notice in myself, and she celebrated them. And instead of calling out my shortcomings, she guided me in a way that made growth feel safe.
Her presence shaped the way I understood my own strengths, my softness, and my potential. And honestly, it makes perfect sense now. My sister used to write this quote in our cards: “A sister is both your mirror and your opposite.” She shaped me in exactly that way.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
I know it sounds silly, but the water has always brought me comfort. As a kid, my self-regulation skills were limited, but I have such clear memories of taking long bath showers after hard days, water felt safe to me from the start. The touch, the sound, the sight of it has always calmed me. As I got older, whether it was the pool for fun or competitive swimming, the water stayed my place of ease.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to, no matter how long it takes, is that swimming should be a basic human right. Especially here in South Florida, where water is part of our daily lives, the gap in swim education is still far too big. Everyone deserves access to safe, confident experiences in the water.
Through Audswimmers, I’m committed to making swim lessons accessible, flexible, and community-based, and to being a lifelong water-safety advocate. Little by little, family by family, I want to help close that gap.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I like to think yes, I’m doing what I was born to do. Audswimmers lets me blend purpose with passion every single day. Being close to the water, building real community impact, and creating a program that is adaptive, inclusive, and accessible feels completely natural to me.
Living in South Florida makes it all feel even more aligned, the water is part of our everyday life here, and being able to serve families in a place where swimming truly matters feels like exactly where I’m meant to be.
Every season brings new growth and new opportunities to refine what Audswimmers offers. What started as a small travel-based program has grown into a trusted, recognizable part of the Broward and Miami-Dade community.
