Story & Lesson Highlights with Ashley Fleuridor of Miami

Ashley Fleuridor shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What battle are you avoiding?
A battle I’m avoiding is my fear of seeking approval from those around me. Deep down, I have a strong desire to pursue singing, modeling, and acting, but I often hold myself back because I’m scared of being judged or misunderstood. I worry about what others might think, whether they’ll take me seriously, or if they’ll see my dreams as unrealistic. This fear has kept me from fully expressing my creativity and confidence. I know that overcoming it means learning to validate myself first and trust that my passions are worth pursuing no matter who does or doesn’t approve.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’ve always believed that creativity is my way of speaking to the world. Whether it’s through singing, modeling, or acting, I feel most alive when I’m expressing emotion and telling a story. My dream is to become a global superstar. not just for the fame, but to inspire others to embrace who they are and go after what they love. I also carry a deep connection to my Haitian roots and want to represent the culture with pride. Even though I wasn’t born there, I feel its strength and resilience in me, and I want to get more involved in uplifting the community and shining a light on its beauty. My journey is about confidence, authenticity, and turning fear into fuel for something greater.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was that quiet girl who kept everything inside. In primary school, I was shy, insecure, and often bullied, which made me build walls around myself. I didn’t speak up much or show who I really was because I was afraid of being judged or laughed at. For a long time, I lived in that shell, trying to stay small so I wouldn’t be noticed. But after I graduated high school, something in me shifted. I realized I didn’t want to live in fear anymore. I wanted more for myself. So I started working on my confidence, chasing my passions, and allowing myself to be seen. I’m still growing, but now I’m finally becoming the version of me that little girl always dreamed of being.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I think about my younger self a lot, probably more than I admit. Sometimes it breaks my heart to remember how lost and unseen she felt. She was so quiet, carrying so much pain behind her smile, never realizing how special she truly was. I wish I could hold her and tell her that she didn’t deserve the things that made her doubt herself. I’d tell her that one day she’d grow into her power, her beauty, and her voice and that the same heart that once hurt so deeply would become her greatest strength. Most of all, I’d tell her she’s always been enough, even when the world made her feel like she wasn’t.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
I differentiate fads from real shifts by looking at depth and impact. Fads are temporary and flashy, while foundational shifts create lasting change, influence behavior, and reshape culture in meaningful ways.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I would regret not even trying. Never stepping into the world of music, modeling, or acting because I was scared of failing or being judged. Even though I haven’t started yet with some things, I know that if I don’t take the first step, I’ll never know what I’m truly capable of. At least if I try, I can say I gave myself a chance to chase my dreams.
