Story & Lesson Highlights with Andy Campos Cosme of Miami

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Andy Campos Cosme . Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Andy , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
Right now, my days are a mix of creativity, discipline, and movement.

I work as an artist, so depending on the day, I might be performing, rehearsing, or creating something new.

Traveling is a big part of my life, and I often move between places like Dubai, the U.S., and Europe.

I try to stay centered by spending time near the beach or in peaceful places where I can recharge and come up with new ideas.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Andy. I’m a Cuban-born artist and entrepreneur currently based between Dubai and the U.S. I’ve had the privilege of working internationally as a performer, including Europe and 7 years in Dubai as part of the iconic show La Perle.

One of the highlights of my career was performing in Las Vegas with Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles LOVE, which deeply shaped my artistic journey. Alongside my work on stage, I’m also the founder of a perfume brand based in Florida. Scent, to me, is another powerful form of storytelling — it connects memory, identity, and emotion.

What makes my path unique is how I blend art, business, and global experiences into everything I do. I’m currently focused on expanding my fragrance line and developing creative projects that bridge cultures and inspire people around the world.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was pure energy — movement, curiosity, emotion. I was a dreamer who saw the world as a stage, not to impress, but to express. I didn’t worry about success, status, or structure — I just followed what made my heart beat faster: creativity, connection, freedom.

Then came the noise — expectations, titles, borders, roles. But even through it all, that original version of me never disappeared. He just waited quietly for me to remember him. And now, everything I create — on stage, in business, in life — is my way of honoring him. I’m not trying to become someone. I’m returning to who I always was.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up — when I lost my job and found myself without a home or money in the U.S. It was one of the lowest moments of my life. Everything I had built felt like it collapsed overnight, and for a while, I questioned my path, my strength, even my worth.

But in that darkness, something inside me refused to break. I remembered who I was before the world told me who I had to be. I held on to my creativity, my vision, and the belief that this chapter wasn’t the end — it was the turning point.

That experience humbled me, but it also rebuilt me. Today, I carry that moment not as a scar, but as a symbol of resilience. I didn’t just survive — I transformed.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what really matters to me is purpose, connection, and staying true to who I am. They know I care deeply about creating — whether it’s through art, business, or ideas — but it’s never just about success or recognition. It’s about meaning, about touching people’s lives.

They’d also say I value freedom — not just physical freedom to travel or move, but the freedom to be myself, to dream without limits, and to live life on my own terms. And above all, they’d tell you I fight for what I love — even when things get hard, I don’t give up. That’s what truly matters to me.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I would immediately stop doubting my path or holding back my creativity. I wouldn’t waste another second trying to fit into systems or boxes that were never made for someone like me. I’d stop waiting for approval, and I’d stop saying yes to anything that doesn’t align with my soul.

Instead, I’d pour everything into my art, my perfume brand, and the experiences that make me feel alive — traveling, performing, connecting with people across cultures. I’d focus on creating projects that inspire, that leave a mark, and that carry my story long after I’m gone.

Because if I only had 10 years left, I wouldn’t just live — I’d express.
And when my time is up, I want the world to remember not just what I did, but how I made people feel.
