Silvana Gonzalez of Davie on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Silvana Gonzalez. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Silvana, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me is full but rewarding. My mornings usually start with getting my two boys ready and dropped off at their different schools, which sets the tone for the day. From there, I carve out time for a workout it’s my way of staying energized and focused. Once I’m home, I balance household responsibilities like cleaning, laundry, and cooking while also dedicating time to my photography. Depending on the day, that might mean editing sessions, client communication, or being out on shoots. My afternoons and evenings circle back to family, with school pick-ups, activities, and family time. It’s a busy rhythm, but I love the balance between caring for my family, maintaining our home, and pursuing my passion for photography.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Silvana, and I’m a photographer based in South Florida specializing in families, children, babies, and events. What makes my work unique is that I don’t just focus on taking photos I focus on capturing genuine connections and timeless moments that families can treasure for years. Photography has always been more than just a profession for me; it’s a way to tell stories, preserve milestones, and create art out of everyday life.

As a mom of two boys, I know firsthand how quickly time passes and how important it is to freeze those little moments before they’re gone. That perspective shapes the way I work with families, keeping sessions fun, comfortable, and natural so personalities truly shine through.

Right now, I’m working on expanding my portfolio to include more behind-the-scenes storytelling and offering clients a more personal experience from start to finish. My goal is always to create not just beautiful images, but meaningful keepsakes that feel authentic and heartfelt.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom saw me clearly before I ever saw myself. She recognized my strengths, passions, and resilience long before I did, and she never stopped reminding me of them. Her encouragement and belief in me gave me the courage to pursue my dreams, even in moments when I doubted myself. I carry her wisdom and faith in me everywhere I go, and I’m forever grateful that she always saw the best in me first.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
After becoming a mom again at 40, there were definitely moments I almost gave up. The responsibilities felt heavier than I expected. Caring for a newborn, becoming a grandmother ( my oldest daughter was pregnant at the same time I was) keeping up with my home, and still trying to pour energy into my work. I was exhausted, and there were days I wondered if I could really handle it all. But even in those low moments, the love I had for my family and my passion for photography kept me moving forward, one step at a time.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that my family and my faith are what matter most to me. They know that I pour my heart into my loved ones and that my faith is what keeps me grounded, especially in the busy seasons of life. Those two things are truly the foundation of who I am.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I would stop worrying. Worry steals so much joy and time, and it never changes the outcome. Instead, I’d focus on being present with my family, leaning on my faith, and soaking in every moment with gratitude and peace. I’d start living in the present and leave my future in Gods hands.
