Sasha Scott shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Sasha, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The younger me would be in utter shock at the first 90 minutes of my day. I am so much more intentional and present. I wake up and immediately grab my phone to play either 963hz or a list of manifestations on audio. I take time to give gratitude for waking up, forty eyes, my senses, my brain, my heart. After 15 minutes of this, I. check my appointment schedule, make edits and respond to emails. After a hot shower and ridiculous skin care regimen, I arrange for package pickup and start “work from home” with a cup of cat’s claw or red clover tea.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sasha Scott. A little Jamaican girl that opened her mobile & online shoe store in 2014 as a young mother who did not want to sacrifice time with her young son while trying to earn a living. ShoeFeature has since grown from frugal fashion into a legacy of finance.
ShoeFeature has been featured on NBC6, Deco Drive TV, Secret Society Movie, Love and Hip Hop Miami, Univision and VH1.
Since 2020, I’ve written my second book “PAUSE” a thirty day workbook of introspection. I’ve also started my legacy planning agency, @LifeAgentScott. I’ve seen too many fashionable women that don’t have their finances in tact. I decided, just like ShoeFeature heels elevates your look, the right life insurance plan will elevate your confidence, so I blended fashion with finance, making financial protection affordable, chic, simple and essential.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Grandpa. He raised me my entire life before he passed away in 2010. He raised me to be bold, outspoken, and reminded me every day of how beautiful I am. I could never relate to many children who said they were told “to be seen and not heard”.
As a politician, he fostered healthy debates and encouraged me to write in local newspapers and speak out on topics beyond my years. He insisted I be seen and heard and promoted education/higher learning.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to play the long game. I learned the importance of having a 3 month emergency fund, saving, investing and planning ahead. I lost on a small scale, thankfully, so as I won bigger I made the necessary mindset changes and shifts.
Quick success, taught me how to spend quickly, frivolously and had me telling myself life is short.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Smarter people than myself think everything is instant. Although few times this may be the case, sustained success, comes from intention, focus and repetition of certain working systems over time. I think social media have given a few smart people the idea that success is just one “click” or like “away”.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Personalized service. Coming from a background of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, it was imbedded in me the importance of personalized service. My clients, both at ShoeFeature and LifeAgentScott, receive hand written thank you notes and personal check up calls. They have access to my WhatsApp and socal media handles which gives them insight. on the even realer me!
