We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rossana Rojas. Check out our conversation below.
Rossana, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My son has graduated and is beginning his next chapter at trade school to pursue his passion for mechanics. So proud of him
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a proud Puerto Rican hairstylist and have been in the industry since 2000. I love creating custom cuts based on each client’s needs, blending different techniques to highlight their unique style. I specialize in textured modern cuts—bangs, pixies, shags, bobs, layers, and modern mullets—designed to look effortless.
My work also includes full color, balayage, color craft, Botox treatments, and keratin services. To me, doing hair is like sculpting a personalized piece of art on every head.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom was not only a hairstylist but also my first teacher. I can still remember how nervous I was cutting her short, coarse hair, and how she would calmly guide me, saying, ‘Just do it—the more you practice, the better you’ll get.’ Her lessons and her love will stay with me forever.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Girl, you got this! You have all the tools and the resilience—don’t worry, everything is going to be fine.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
I’m Puerto Rican, and moving from my island to Miami with my son was a big change. I make it a priority to visit often and to keep our traditions and language alive. I try to reflect that in my work, in the way I raise my son, and in my daily life—that’s how I protect and honor my cultural values.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I really enjoy being in nature. Whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or a garden, spending time outdoors helps me disconnect, recharge, and feel grounded and in peace.
